First introduced in 1964, the Ruger 10/22 is currently the most famous and widely available semi-automatic rimfire rifle: manufactured as of today in over five million samples and supported by a simply limitless supply of factory or third-party aftermarket components and accessories, it still today represents the standard by which all other .22 Long Rifle carbines and rifles are judged.
The Ruger 10/22 Takedown semi-automatic rifle was first introduced in March 2012 with a special focus on the U.S. market and on all the other jurisdictions where .22 is a legal caliber to be used for hunting and where backpackers, campers and outdoor enthusiasts are allowed and sometimes encouraged to carry a firearm with them during their trips in the wilderness.

Ruger 10/22 Takedown .22 Long Rifle carbine
The Ruger 10/22 has long built itself a solid reputation as a survival carbine, and the takedown model brings that reputation to a whole new level of convenience, allowing the user to strip it down in two components for more convenient carry and for safer storage when not in use.
The Ruger 10/22 Takedown carbine is built around a clear matte steel receiver and barrel, and features the standard Ruger 10/22 machined bolt and blowback system.

The trigger housing of the Ruger 10/22 Takedown carbine is manufactured as a single assembly, precision-manufactured out of heat-stabilized, glass-reinforced polymer for improved manufacturing tolerances and resistance to impact, abrasion and elements.
A positive push-button cross-bolt manual safety is located in front of the trigger, at easy and convenient index finger reach.
The Ruger 10/22 Takedown feeds through standard 10/22 factory or aftermarket magazines; an easy-to-use, prominent magazine release provides a smooth, no-fuss removal of flush-mounted magazines.

A round takedown lever, protected by a hollow in the polymer, is located just in front of the magazine well.
The easy takedown system enables the barrel of the Ruger 10/22 Takedown carbine to be quickly separated from the action.
With the rifle unloaded – magazine out, chamber empty, bolt locked back – the user just needs to push the recessed lever, twist the two sub-assemblies and pulling them apart to strip the 10/22 Takedown carbine in two halves for convenient carry or storage.
Reassembly is just as easy and fast – basically the same sequence in reverse – and provides a secure connection of the barrel, returning the firearm to zero for consistent accuracy and requiring no re-adjustment of any receiver-mounted optical sight.
The Ruger 10/22 Takedown semi-automatic rimfire rifle is 93,9 cm / 37” long overall when fully assembled, and weighs 4.6 lbs unloaded.
A perfect choice for small-game and varmint hunting, plinking, training, or survival, it is sold from factory in a convenient carry case.
