Derya Arms introduces new DY9Z concealed carry pistol
New from Derya Arms of Turkey is the DY9Z 9mm Luger subcompact pistol, offering a solid construction and 10- or 15- rounds capacity for concealed carry and personal defense
Finally available on the US market after two months of anticipations, the Derya DY9Z 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol is a new, aggressively priced entry on America's vast and constantly growing market for sub-compact handguns for concealed carry and personal defense – a category of firearms that is also finding increasing acceptance in markets with restrictive carry laws, such as in Europe, where women and other smaller-handed shooters increasingly opt for sub-compact designs for target shooting and home protection.
Standing at barely 16,5 cm / 6.5" in overall length and barely 2,8 cm / 1.1" in width, weighing in at just 567 grams / 1.25 lbs when empty and featuring a 8,9 cm (3.5") long barrel, the DY9Z is a deep-concealment oriented variant of Derya's own DY9, first launched internationally in 2023 and introduced on the European and north American markets between 2024 and 2025.
Technically similar to a Glock pistol – so much, in fact, that it accepts several Glock pistol components – the Derya DY9 quickly gained a modest success in terms of sales, and today the DY9 line of pistols includes numerous variants, including IPSC-oriented models. The DY9Z aims at replicating the success of previous variants, while remaining competitively priced.

Like the full-sized DY9, the Derya Arms DY9Z pistol is a striker-fired, light double action pistol built on a machined, Melonite-coated black steel slide and a reinforced polymer frame with an ergonomically-shaped grip.
The controls configuration, field-stripping, trigger type and trigger safety are an almost perfect replica of a Glock design; the polymer frame is railed for tactical accessories and comes with interchangeable grip backstraps to adapt to shooters of any hand size.
The slide features aggressive front and rear serrations, a set of three-dot sights, and a machined optics interface compatible with micro red dot sights that share the Shield Sights RMSc footprint.
Derya's DY9Z comes from factory in a kit contained in a rigid polymer transport case, including a single double-stack 15 rounds metal magazine (10-rounds magazines for restrictive jurisdictions are also available, and spare magazines can be purchased on the official Derya Arms website); three interchangeable grip backstraps; a cleaning rod and brush; a red chamber flag; a hex key for the optics plate; and an instruction manual.
MSRP for the US market is set at a very appealing point: barely $299.00. Visitat the official Derya Arms website for further information; for all information concerning local availability and pricing outside of the United States, refer to the authorized Derya Arms distributor for your Country.
