After months of half-spoken rumors on and off the Internet, Beretta finally officially introduces their most advanced, high-technology semi-automatic hunting shotgun yet: the AX800 Suprema is not just a re-designed version of a pre-existing Beretta shotgun, but a totally new product, engineered from the ground up featuring radically upgraded takes of Beretta's top technologies to provide even higher levels of performance, consistently and reliably whenever the situation demands it.

Aside from the strikingly futuristic lines, the Beretta AX800 Suprema shotgun stands out for its receiver, fully manufactured out of reinforced polymer, with no metal components whatsoever except for a small front steel plate that dubs both as a barrel trunnion, allowing the barrel extension to engage the receiver itself, and as a rear mounting point for the 5-rounds magazine tube.

The receiver of the Beretta AX800 Suprema shotgun also integrates the pistol grip assembly, with the stock itself being a separate component; according to Beretta, the special polymer blend used to manufacture the AX800 Suprema shotgun receiver is much sturdier and more resistant than aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, despite effectively keeping the overall weight to approximately 3,5 kilograms (7.8 lbs) when empty.

Beretta's new AX800 Suprema shotgun is chambered for 12-gauge shotshells, and features a 3.5" / 89mm chamber, allowing the use of any shotshell size all the way to the most powerful "Supermagnum" loads used for waterfowling.

Whether it's light training loads, standard 2.¾" or 3" hunting shells, or super-powerful 3.5" waterfowling loads, the Beretta AX800 Suprema retains the same level of reliability thanks to its B-Link Pro gas-operated working system: a radical evolution of Beretta's own B-Link system, the new B-Link Pro is the fastest-cycling gas-operated working system used by any shotgun made anywhere in the world – 36% faster on average than its predecessor – and is 46% cleaner than any Beretta semi-automatic shotgun to date.

The Beretta AX800 Suprema semi-automatic shotgun features oversized controls, oversized loading and ejection ports, a redesigned trigger group with a straighter trigger and improved release and reset, a crossbolt manual safety located on the front of the trigger guard, and a redesigned elevator with a polymer insert that holds it into a raised position to facilitate loading.

The end cap of the magazine tube, dubbed B-Lok, was also redesigned to offer a 60-degrees turn for both tightening and releasing, making disassembly a breeze. Additionally, the grip front strap is replaceable, and so is the cheek riser, allowing the AX800 Suprema to adapt to shooters of any size and to any shooting technique. The texture on contact surfaces has also been redesigned for a firm grip in all conditions.

The stock was redesigned to make the AX800 Suprema shootable and controllable with any loads: its B-uffer rubberized shoulder pad offers higher resistance in harsh conditions and demanding situations, while a built-in Kick-Off Plus recoil buffer system offers 70% reduction in felt recoil with one single shim system to easily adjust drop and cast and adjustable LOP through proprietary Beretta spacers.

The icing on the cake is represented by the Steelium Pro barrels – the same barrel technology used by the Beretta DT11 competition shotguns that won 33 medals at the latest Olympic games – featuring a lengthened 450mm forcing cone for improved and constant accuracy, improved terminal performance, tighter patterns, and optimal recoil and muzzle climb control.

The AX800 Suprema is available in three barrel lengths – 66 cm / 26", 71 cm / 28" and 30" – all compatible with Beretta's own Optimachoke HP high strength steel chokes, compatible with both lead and lead-free ammunition, including steel shot.

In terms of sights, the Beretta AX800 Suprema comes with a full-length 7x7mm step rib and a front red fiber optic front sight, for fast and easy target acquisition. On the top rear portion of the receiver, a drilled-and-tapped interface allows the installation of small-size red dot sights via a dedicated black saddle-style mount.

The Beretta AX800 Suprema semi-automatic hunting shotgun is currently manufactured in black, green, Peat grey, Otter brown, and in Realtree MAX-7, Optifade Timber and Optifade Marsh camo variants.
