IWI - Israel Weapon Industries, Ltd. and its north American branch IWI US, Inc. recently announced the imminent launch of two new products on the global civilian, military, and law enforcement markets.

The 7.62x51mm caliber IWI TAVOR 7 bull-pup battle rifle, the newest member of the successful TAVOR bull-pup rifle family, will be on display in its MIL/LE configuration at Defense and Security Thailand (6-9 Nov. 2017 Booth F33), Milipol (Paris) France (21-24 Nov. 2017 Booth G 025), and Expodefensa Colombia. IWI US will launch the civilian version of the TAVOR 7 at the 2018 SHOT Show (Booth 15138), held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 2018 SHOT Show will see the introduction of the IWI MASADA line of semi-automatic, striker-fired pistols for sport shooting, service, and defense, to be available for commercial sales in the first quarter of 2018.

The IWI TAVOR 7 battle rifle, chambered for the 7.62x51mm NATO / .308 Winchester caliber, was created to second the dynamic changes in the battlefield and the necessity of a powerful and highly performant 7.62mm cartridge, granting the troops an innovative, powerful, accurate and reliable weapon that can be rapidly and easily deployed in all combat situations.

In both its military and civilian versions, the IWI TAVOR 7 is a fully ambidextrous platform, whose ejection window and charging handle can be quickly and easily switched to left-handed or right-handed configuration by the user by simple field-strip, without any special tool.

The variant sold on the commercial and civilian markets will be semi-automatic, while military, law enforcement and government customers will have access to a select-fire version offering a rate of fire ranging between 600 and 900 rounds per minute.

Feeding through MagPul PMAG 25 LR/SR GEN M3 polymer magazines, the IWI TAVOR 7 battle rifle and semi-automatic sporting rifle will also feature a non-reciprocating charging handle, an ambidextrous magazine release catch, safety lever and bolt catch similar to those found on the highly successful X95. Similarly, the large trigger guard of the IWI TAVOR 7 can be replaced with a slimmer design and a standard pistol grip.

The IWI TAVOR 7 also features an M-LOK forend with two slots at 3-o'clock and 9-o'clock positions, full-length top machined aluminum MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for optics and tactical accessories. Removing the lower portion of the forend will reveal a protected Picatinny rail for vertical foregrips or grenade launchers.

The rifle's body is built from high-strength, impact-modified polymer, and offers an easily replaceable 17" or 20" hammer-forged, chrome-lined, free-floating barrel for enhanced accuracy and life cycle.

A short-stroke gas-piston driven, rotating bolt rifle, the IWI TAVOR 7 strips easily in two main components without special tools, and is easy to clean and maintain.

A four-positions gas regulator allows the user to close the gas system or to set it for regular operation, for operations in extreme environments, and to adapt it to the use of silencers or sound suppressors. The regulator will also feature an "Off" position that will close the gas system completely and allow the rifle to be used as a single-shot weapon – a feature implemented following the feedback of Special Forces operators.

The IWI TAVOR 7 enables 100% interchangeability, reducing maintenance costs. It will be available in four colors – Sniper Gray, Olive Drab Green, Black, and Flat Dark Earth – in both its military and civilian iterations.

Standing at an overall length of 723 mm (28.4"), and sporting a weight without magazine of 4,1 kilograms (9 lbs), the TAVOR 7 embodies the perfect modern rifle for military, law enforcement, and sportsmen alike.

IWI MASADA Pistol

The MASADA: a new breed of semi-automatic, striker-fired pistols from IWI

The IWI MASADA striker-fired pistol satisfies all modern requirements of a semi-automatic handgun for both civilian and professional purposes: a low-axis barrel for reduced perceived recoil and improved recovery; fully ambidextrous controls, an enhanced grip texture for slip-proof operation and improved ergonomics for a natural and instinctive pointing grip angle; three interchangeable wraparound backstraps coupled with deep beavertail to fit a wide variety of hand sizes; a set of passive safety mechanisms, including a firing pin block safety and a crisp trigger reset with a built-in trigger safety; and an additional manual safety on request.

Built around a high-strenght, polymer frame and a machined steel slide with improved front and rear serrations and Meprolight tritium sights as factory standards, the IWI MASADA pistol also features a polygon-rifled, cold hammer forged barrel with a 1:10" RH twist and a double-stack magazine holding 17+1 round of 9x19mm ammunition. Other calibers may be available in the future.

The shooter’s safety is further enhanced during cleaning and maintenance as there is no need to pull the trigger in order to field strip the IWI MASADA. Another feature of the design – nowadays a common sight in striker-fired pistol – is the use of a modular serialized high grade steel trigger mechanism housing that can be easily removed, allowing simple and easy disassembly and maintenance.

The serialized trigger housing would also legally be "the" pistol in most jurisdictions, allowing frames to be easily sold over the counter as mere unregulated accessories.

The IWI MASADA pistol weighs 22.9 ounces (650 grams) without magazine, and will be available in black, flat dark earth and olive drab green variants.
