Announced but not officially introduced back in late 2016, the Winchester SX4 has finally been showcased at the 2017 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. The shotgun that six-times shooting world record holder Raniero Testa described as "An enormous leap forward" if compared even to his trusty SX3, the new Super X4 is lighter, faster cycling, smoother swinging and more ergonomic.

Critical functional controls are larger and easier to operate – a real benefit in damp weather and cold conditions – and the synthetic stock with improved ergonomics, a smaller pistol grip and textured gripping surfaces provide a sure, non-slip grip mated with a non-glare matte black finish that won't spook wary game.

Winchester's SX4 shotgun is chambered for the powerful 12-gauge, 89mm / 3.½" shotshells, and benefits from Winchester's patented technological features such as the Back-Bored technology for optimally dense shot patterns; the Invector-Plus choke tube system that offers consistent patterns to match target situation: a hard chrome-plated chamber and bore that's highly resistant to wear and corrosion; a TRU-GLO long bead fiber-optic front sight and a ventilated rib.

The Winchester SX4 is built around the Active Valve Gas System, one of the best on the market: a smart system that self-adjusts to use just as much gas as it's needed to reload, using Quadra-Vent technology to vent unnecessary gases away from the action in order to reduce felt recoil and fouling – this making the SX4 one of the most versatile and autoloading shotguns available.
