First showcased at the 2023 edition of SHOT Show but made available for purchase through international channels only in early 2024, the Derya TM22 LA-18 lever-action rimfire rifle is now distributed in numerous Countries in Europe and north America.

Manufactured in Turkey, this nifty little gun is interesting chiefly for being the only lever-action rimfire carbine currently manufactured to feed from a detachable magazine instead of a magazine tube.

More specifically, the TM22 LA-18 feeds through the same detachable single-stack polymer magazine used by Derya's own TM22-A-18 semi-automatic rimfire carbine; each rifle comes issued with two 10-rounds magazines, but extended 15- and 25-rounds options are also available.

Inspired in its lines to the most classic lever-action rifle design – notably the legendary Winchester 1892 – the Derya TM22 LA-18 is available with a Turkish walnut straight stock and handguard or with black polymer furniture.

The polymer stock and handguards feature checkered contact surfaces for a better gripping, an adjustable cheek riser and a set of interchangeable stock extensions for LOP adjustment.

The wooden furniture variant is only available with a black finish on the outer metal surfaces; polymer furniture variants are available in black, desert tan, olive drab green, liliac purple, or gold.

All models are built around a lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum alloy frame and feature a single-action trigger, with the external hammer dubbing as a manual safety when in the half-cock position and an additional rebounding hammer mechanism safety that prevents the rifle to fire if the charging lever isn't fully closed.

The tube located underneath the barrel is of course inert, while the magazine release catch is located on the right side of the frame, right above the trigger guard, at the end of a long external transfer bar to allow shooters to release an empty magazine with their right index finger.

All the Derya TM22 LA-18 lever-action carbines come with 457 mm / 18" barrels, with six RH grooves, 1:16" twist rates, and a protected ½x28 UNEF thread at the muzzle for flash hiders, compensators, muzzle brakes, or sound suppressors.

Also standard for all TM22 LA-18 rifles are a fixed front sight and a fully adjustable rear sight installed right on a short top MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for optics.

The location of the ejection window on the right side of the receiver allows the Derya TM22 LA-18 to use any kind of scopes, not being confined to long eye-relief optics.

Standing at 914 mm / 36" in overall length and weighing in at approximately 2,3 kg / 5.1 lbs (polymer furniture models) or 2,4 kg / 5.3 lbs (wooden furniture model) when empty, the Derya TM22 LA-18 is a very interesting choice for small-game hunting, pest control, shooting competitions, plinking, and as a training instrument for both experienced shooters or for the youngest generation of future top marksmen.
