On May 12th, Beretta announced the first entry in a list of ten one-off firearms that will be launched this year to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Company's foundation... and, much to the surprise of many, it is not a classic hunting rifle, but an AR-15 derivative that's truly unique in more ways than one.

A product of Beretta's most advanced engineering techniques, inspired to the extreme need of the tactical world, the Beretta Titan semi-automatic rifle is a firearm that's elegant and functional at the same time, both aesthetically unique and technologically groundbreaking.

Recognizing – in the words of the Company's General Manager and CEO, Mr. Carlo Ferlito – the ever-increasing relevance of Modern Sporting Rifles in the world of today's international sport shooting, Beretta created a rifle that can naturally move from the shooting range to the cabinet of a demanding gun collector without losing its identity one bit.

Described by Beretta as "the blend of power and rituality, absolute performance and timeless elegance", the Titan semi-automatic rifle is inspired to functional genetics, and was designed to feel like a natural extension of the shooter's body when shouldered, while at the same time pushing modularity, versatility and performance to their outer limits.

For the first time ever, Beretta designed a firearm that matches elegance, performance, and manufacturing excellence through the use of cutting-edge materials: the upper receiver of the Titan semi-automatic rifle is manufactured out of titanium, while the lower receiver is manufactured out of magnesium.

Seldom used by the firearms industry to this day, magnesium and titanium allow the Beretta Titan to offer a significant increase in structural solidity compared to the standard of its segment, without negatively affecting the overall weight – which, if anything, tips the scales at a very low level.

Advanced materials were also used in the manufacturing of the dedicated furniture for the Beretta Titan rifle: the pistol grip is manufactured out of forged carbon, while carbon fiber was used for both the buttstock – which is adjustable both in length and height – and the slimline handguard, featuring three sets of M-LOK slots.

Such unique materials required the Beretta Titan rifle to be redesigned from the ground up, both internally and externally; all components were rigorously tested for resistance to firing pressures and long‑term durability. Beretta combines advanced multiphysics simulations with extreme physical testing in its factory facilities to guarantee long-term strength, reliability, and performance under intensive use.

The receiver's exclusive grey camo pattern subtly incorporates the date 1526, as handwritten by Bartolomeo Beretta in the document that marks the origins of the company over five Centuries ago.

A Beretta 500 Years logo insert is inlaid on both sides of the forged carbon pistol grip, while a discreet detail at the front of the Picatinny rail pays tribute to the first spark ignited in Bartolomeo’s forge – a spark that still burns bright today.

The Beretta Titan semi-automatic rifle is chambered for the powerful 6.5 Grendel cartridge – not very popular in Europe, but chosen nonetheless for its superior performances in terms of accuracy, range, and terminal ballistics.

With its adjustable-valve piston-driven working system and improved two-stage trigger, the Beretta Titan semi-automatic rifle aims at setting new standards in terms of performance by which all modern sporting rifles will be judged in the future.

The Beretta Titan rifle also comes issued from factory with a Premium-tier optical sight – a Steiner M7Xi 2.9-20x50 riflescope – featuring an integral Beretta 500 Years logo in its visual interface, perfectly visible through the eyecup lens, offering a custom aiming and shooting experience.

The Beretta Titan rifle also comes issued in a carbon-fiber transport case with a soft Alcantara suede-style padding, blending durability and a quintessentially Italian level of elegance and style.

The custom French-fitted layout keeps every item in the transport case perfectly secured, while a set of integrated wheels and a telescopic handle ensure smooth mobility on any surface. Direct carbon-fiber printing adds a distinctive, customizable signature to this unique transport case.

Like all the one-off quincentennial commemorative firearms to be launched by Beretta this year, the true reason for the existance of the Beretta Titan rifle is to explore the use of new materials and innovative engineering and manufacturing technologies, blazing the trail that the firearms industry will follow in the future. In the words of Beretta's Law Enforcement & Defense Firearms manager Riccardo Perotti:

Titan isn't just a rifle: it's a statement of intent, a fusion of tactical performance and ceremonial elegance that seamlessly blends the needs of tactical sport shootings and the world of firearms collectors. Every detail was carefully engineer to mirror both sides of Beretta's heritage, making the Titan a cutting-edge sporting instrument and a valuable collector's piece at the same time.
