On June 2, 2024, SIG Sauer launched a new variant of the P320 pistol design on the US civilian market: the distinctive, aesthetically unique SIG Sauer P320 M17 Ceremonial 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol.

The SIG Sauer P320 M17 Ceremonial pistol is a commercial variant of the service pistol provided by SIG Sauer back in 2018 to the US Army's 3rd Infantry Regiment ("The Old Guard") for issue to the so-called "Sentinels", the Honor Guards to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, a short 2.8 miles south-west of downtown Washington DC.

Like the Sentinels' service pistol, the new M17 Ceremonial ditches the P320's typical polymer frame in favor of a stainless steel AXG-type grip module, finished in a DLC high polish black like the carbon steel slide, but featuring a Picatinny rail under the dust cover unlike the Sentinels' pistol, whose dust cover is smooth.

The SIG Sauer P320-M17 Ceremonial pistol comes with a set of Hogue walnut grips; they're not an exact replica of the Sentinels' pistols grips – the entire pistol sports numerous substantial differences from the original Sentinels' issue handgun – but their super-polished oil finish does match the DLC finish on the steel slide and frame very well.

Standing at 208 mm (8.2") in overall length, the new SIG Sauer P320-M17 Ceremonial features a 129 mm (4.7") barrel and a set of deep front and rear slide serrations (whereas the Sentinels' pistol features an engraved XXI on the rear of the slide and no front serrations).

Also featured are a set of SIG Sauer X-RAY3 tritium sights and a machined micro red dot sight interface with a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro footprint.

The striker-fired trigger of the M17 Ceremonial is the same found on most P320 derivatives; the pistol is issued with two double-stack 17-rounds magazines and one extended 21-rounds magazine. The overall weight tops 32.1 oz (910 grams) with an empty magazine.

MSRP for the US market is set at $1,708.00. For information concerning local availability and pricing outside of the United States, consult the authorized SIG Sauer distributor for your Country.
