Pulsar Axion XQ30 Pro compact thermal imaging monocular
Pulsar's new Axion XQ30 Pro thermal imaging monocular is extremely compact, lightweight, yet sturdy and highly performing, for maximum confidence in the harshest conditions
Three months after its debut at the 2024 edition of the IWA expo in Nuremberg, Germany, the new Pulsar Axion XQ30 Pro compact thermal imaging monocular is finally in distribution and available on the international commercial markets.
Built around an extremely sturdy yet super lightweight magnesium alloy chassis, the Axion XQ30 Pro is part of Pulsar's compact line of thermal imagers for hunting purposes, standing at barely 144 mm (5.66") in overall length and weighing in at just 300 grams (10.58 oz) with a full battery pack.
The IPX7-certified magnesium chassis offers adequate shielding against hits, drops, water, dust, and extreme temperature shifts; it efficiently dissipates heat from electronics, minimizes image disturbances and supports prolonged operation
The Axion XQ30 Pro thermal imager is powered by a Pulsar APS 3 3200 mAh rechargeable battery pack and a 5V USB charger (both as an external direct power supply or to recharge the battery), and features an embedded professional-grade thermal imaging sensor with a 384x288 pixels resolution and a thermal sensitivity level under 25 mK. This ensures low levels of noise while providing excellent image detail and high contrast.
With its 800 meters (874.8 yds) maximum detection range and its wide 13.3° field of view, the Pulsar Axion XQ30 Pro allows operators to easily and quickly detect all heat-emanating objects and just as swiftly single out the most interesting ones to concentrate on, while at the same time retaining a high degree of situational awareness.
Thanks to an embedded camera, the Axion XQ30 Pro can also snap pictures or record videos, which are stored in an internal 16 gb memory.
All functions are controlled by a set of rubberized buttons located on top of the device. Three amplification levels combined with new filtration algorithms and fine brightness and contrast adjustments, increase the users' chances for early target detection under heavy weather and high humidity conditions. These settings provide optimized rendering of the target and background objects in the observation scene.
The frost-resistant, 640x400p AMOLED display can be set on a choice of 8 colour palettes – white hot, black hot and red hot; rainbow; ultramarine; red monochrome; sepia, and violet – to optimise the unit for specific tasks and to react to changing observation conditions.
The Pulsar Axion XQ30 Pro also features an embedded WiFi module, which allows the device to interface with the dedicated Stream Vision 2 to transfer data from and to the 16gb memory, perform firmware updates, stream live from the imager, control it remotely, and much more.
