First introduced during the flagship SIG NEXT 2026 back in October, the SIG Sauer KILO Micro represents probably the most interesting and significative innovation in the field of handheld laser rangefinders seen in quite a few years.

Laser rangefinders are now basically ubiquitous and essential pieces of gear for everybody from long-range and precision shooting sport competitors to hunters, from military snipers to police marksmen: anybody who needs to take decisive shots at long ranges will eventually rely on one of these devices to help make their mark.

Now, the times when laser rangefinders were extremely expensive, energy-hungry, large and heavy pieces of equipment, difficult to carry around and hard to deploy and properly use without a tripod or any sort of stable support are long gone; but the SIG Sauer KILO Micro brings the concept of compact handheld laser rangefinder to a whole new dimension – in more ways than one.

Standing at 7 cm / 2.7" in overall length, 4,8 cm / 1.8" in height and 3,2 cm / 1.2" in width, the SIG Sauer KILO Micro is the world's smallest laser rangefinder – compact enough to literally fit in the palm of your hand. And with its black and FDE reinforced polymer chassis, the KILO Micro is also the lightest rangefinder ever, tipping the scales at just 96 grams (3.4 oz).

Anyone, in any field and situation, who may need a laser rangefinder, once handling the SIG Sauer KILO Micro will soon find out that the (albeit minimum) encumbrance caused by the bulk and weight of a classic handheld device and the worries concerning stability and accurate readings tied to using a rangefinder without a stabilizing platform are literally a thing of the past.

Stuff it in a pocket of your cargo pants or your hunting vest, and you'll almost forget you have the SIG Sauer KILO Micro with you. Additionally, an included magnetic quick-detach harness allows you to clip the KILO Micro on to your vest, belt, backpack, or anything that has PALS/MOLLE loops, and carry it effortlessly anywhere while keeping it at hand: just pull and it's clipped out and ready.

In no way, however, does the small size take anything from the performance: offering a fixed 4x magnification factor, a 18mm objective lens, and full SpectraCoat and LensArmor glass coatings that maximize light transmission and safeguard image clarity, the SIG Sauer KILO Micro uses a GEN II Lightwave DSP engine for lighting-fast ranging at a maximum range of 600 yards (548,64 meters) on deer-sized targets, 800 yards (731,52 meters) on fixed targets, and up to 1,000 yarde (914,4 meters) on reflective targets.

The device is powered by a built-in rechargeable litium battery, capable of offering up to 3,000 rangings with a full charge. All data is returned to the user through a Lumatic TOLED red-and-green illuminated display that automatically optimizes visibility across changing light conditions.

The minimum 18.5 mm eye relief, +/- 3 range adjustable diopter, and 9.6° field of view makes following moving targets and range them accurately an effortless task. Additionally, the Angle Modified Range (AMR) techology offers accurate readings by automatically compensating for uphill and downhill shot angles.

The SIG Sauer KILO Micro is extremely simple to use: all controls are located on top of the device, in form of two large grey rubberized buttons which not only activate the range-finding function but also allow access to eight ballistic presets for ballistic drop compensation – ideal for ensuring even more accurate shots at longer ranges with your dedicated rifle/scope/caliber combo – plus a ninth dedicated archery mode.

As of today, the SIG Sauer KILO Micro laser rangefinder is only available on the US market, where it's sold at a very enticing manufacturer's suggested retail price: just $249,99, which will definitely be conclusive to an even lower street price and seems to indicate that export prices will likewise remain accessible.
