New Leica Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i riflescope and Leica Geovid 2019 Edition rangefinder
It's mid-year introductions time for Leica: the Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i riflescope offers perfection in the 6x zoom class, while the Leica Geovid 42 HD-B 3000 rangefinding binoculars are now available in a 2019 Edition with olive drab green armoring
New for Summer 2019, Leica Camera of Germany announced two new entries in its highly regarded sport optics line.
The Leica Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i riflescope offers an excellent combination of high optical imaging performance and sleek design, making it unique among riflescopes with 6x zoom and a 56-mm lens diameter.
Also new this year, the Leica Geovid 42 HD-B 3000 "2019 Edition" rangefinding binoculars offer quality and performance in a brand new, sleek olive drab green armouring.
Leica Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i riflescope
The new Leica Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i complements the Leica Fortis 6 1-6x24i and 2-12x50i already introduced at IWA 2019; with the Fortis 6 riflescopes, Leica combines a puristic riflescope design with outstanding optical quality.
Outstanding detail recognition, a wide field of view, and unique contrast deliver exceptional viewing comfort – from dawn to dusk.
With a very large exit pupil at minimum magnification and an enormous field of view at 2.5x magnification, the Leica Fortis 6 riflescopes are now setting new standards in the 6x zoom class for light transmission and high-contrast imaging performance.
Like the 24 and 50 models, the Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i features a rugged construction that makes the riflescope resistant to shocks and falls. This ensures functional reliability in every hunting situation.
Thanks to the generous range of magnifications, the Leica Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i riflescope is ideal for versatile use in a wide variety of hunting situations, and the superior, large exit pupil offers even more safety for fast target acquisition.
All, combined with a precise and reliable mechanical layout, with mechanics made entirely of metal.
Leica Geovid 42 HD-B 3000 "2019 Edition" rangefinder
Beginning in August, Leica offers the Geovid 8x42 HD-B 3000 and the Geovid 10x42 HD-B 3000 in a special “2019 Edition” – with new, olive-green armoring. Both models will be available in limited quantities only until March 2020.
The Leica Geovid HD-B 3000 models enable linear distance measurement up to 3,000 yards (2,750 meters). Their combination of ABC ballistics, optical quality and ergonomic design is unique worldwide. The ballistic measurement values can be output in three formats: holdover, number of clicks, and equivalent horizontal range.
Air pressure, temperature and angle are included in the measurements, calculating the correct point of impact with highest precision. With a microSD card and the Leica Ballistics Calculator, custom ballistics data can be downloaded to the Leica Geovid HD-B 3000 – providing measurement data that is perfectly matched to the calibration and caliber.
In addition to extended distance measurement, both models offer the newly designed LED display of the Geovid HD-B 3000, which depicts the measured data perfectly and legibly under all light and weather conditions. This guarantees even faster readability.
The scan mode is extremely fast, and records the surroundings and targets every 0.5 seconds and displays the desired measurement results precisely. Up to a measuring distance of 200 yards (182 meters), the Leica Geovid HD-B 3000 displays the measured values in decimal steps, which provides much more precise information, especially for bow hunters. The equivalent horizontal range (EHR) is calculated up to a distance of 1,200 yards (1,100 meters).
The Leica Geovid top models offer exceptional brightness and superior transmission of approximately 90 percent. The patented Perger-Porro prisms in combination with the HD optics design and optimized Leica aperture system guarantee excellent stray light suppression and maximum contrast in all hunting situations, all in a compact and lightweight package, offering a magnesium die-cast housing now offered in a shock-absorbing olive-green rubber armoring.
The non-slip armoring, balanced weight and ergonomic shape ensure a secure grip and fatigue-free viewing, even over extended periods of use.
The Leica AquaDura coating on the outer glass surfaces allows dirt or liquid to simply roll off, thus supporting better visibility, especially in rain. So the binoculars can be used optimally at all times, even in unfavorable weather conditions and high humidity.
In addition, the special coating makes the lenses even easier and quicker to clean.
