Sightmark Ultra Shot M-Spec LQD Reflex Sight
As the mainstay of the new and improved line of reflex sights, the Sightmark Ultra Shot M-Spec LQD is certified for high-recoil firearms and offers quality and performance for hunting, sport shooting, and professional applications
As our readers may remember, the Sightmark company announced a vast improvement of the Ultra Shot line of reflex sights in 2018, and today, the new and improved Ultra Shot RAM series offers even more interesting and useful features to the discerning shooter.
The Sightmark Ultra Shot RAM line of reflex sights has the Sightmark Ultra Shot M-Spec LQD reflex sight as the tip of the Company’s new spear.
Certified for long-lasting resistance to recoil up to .338 Winchester Magnum – with other entries in the Ultra Shot RAM line having been certified up to .50 BMG – the new M-Spec LQD reflex sight was conceived for hunting, sport shooting, personal and property defense, private security, and law enforcement, and sold at a price point that makes it a very well-pondered choice on today’s crowded market.
The Sightmark Ultra Shot M-Spec LQD reflex sight features a black hard-anodized 6061-T6 lightweight aluminum alloy construction, pretty much industry-standard, with a Picatinny mount and a low-profile quick-release lever.
The Ultra Shot M-Spec LQD reflex sight is 10,2 cm / 4.01” long overall, and weighs 289 grams (10.2 oz) in a ready-to-use configuration, with a single CR123A battery inserted in its seat located on the left side of the body and protected by a screw-on aluminum cap secured to the structure by a metal cable.
Dimensions make the M-Spec LQD reflex sight perfect for rifles, carbines, shotguns, as well as sub-machine guns, short-barrel rifles, short-barrel shotguns, and personal defense weapons.
The 33×24mm / 1.2” x 0.9” objective on the Sightmark Ultra Shot M-Spec LQD reflex sight is manufactured out of optical glass, featuring a full true-color red reflex-proof outer treatment to improve performance and visibility in low-light conditions or night operation.
A single LED projects a 65 MOA reticle – consisting in a 2 MOA center dot and a 60 MOA circle with 5 MOA subtensions. The M-Spec LQD reflex sight offers a wide field of view, unlimited eye relief and parallax correction over 9 meters / 10 yards of distance.
Two 1-MOA-per-click screws located on top and on the left side of the body allow the reticle to be adjusted on a 120 MOA range in both windage and elevation; reticle brightness is adjusted through a small button pad on the left side, providing manual on/off function, ten different selectable brightness settings, and an additional night vision-compatible mode.
The Sightmark Ultra Shot M-Spec LQD reflex sight also features an auto-off function that engages after twelve hours of continuous use, and a motion-sensing auto-on feature.
A fully charged CR123A battery will provide from a minimum of 200 to a maximum of 2000 hours of use, depending from the selected reticle brightness setting; a power gauge function makes the reticle blink when the battery charge reaches a critical low level.
A collapsible rigid black polymer hood is the most distinctive signature feature of the Sightmark Ultra Shot M-Spec LQD reflex sight; easily deployed and just as easily stowed in the center body of the sight, the hood allows the shooter to maintain reticle visibility in high environmental light conditions and to protect the reticle Led from rain or sand.
The Sightmark Ultra Shot M-Spec LQD is IP68-certified for resistance against hostile environmental conditions; it is shock-proof up to 2,4 m / 8ft and waterproof up to 12 m / 40ft; it is fully compatible with the Sightmark XT-3 Tactical Magnifier, sold separately; and is covered by Sightmark’s lifetime warranty.
