Alien Gear ShapeShift Holsters, with a fan in!
SHOT Show 2018 – Alien Gear Holsters unveiled a variant of their ShapeShift modular holster system with a built-in active cooling fan
New from Alien Gear Holsters at the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas was an interesting new prototype addition to the Company’s own ShapeShift Modular Holster System: a patent-pending IWB holster with an active-cooling fan was demoed at the new product center.
The patent-pending IWB holster features a lightweight fan installed in a polymer unit that directs air flow through thermoplastic flow channels beneath the holster's textured surface layer. The air then exits a perforated neoprene layer against the body to dry sweat and reduce body heat through evaporative cooling.
Unlike other passive cooling or breathable holsters, the new Alien Gear holster is the only one of its kind, actively removing sweat during concealed carry in hot environments. It is water, impact and shock resistant.
The fan module is forward-compatible, compensating space on the backer when light-bearing shells are released.
The fan has three settings with variable battery life: high (8 hours), medium (10 hours) and low (15 hours). The rechargeable battery comes with a high current USB charging cord, and has a charge time under 2 hours.
The backer is the same as the ShapeShift 4.0 IWB Holster, with an added 2 inches in length and 3/16 of an inch in depth. It uses Shape Shift Shells.
