Extrema Ratio Police Evo knife
The Extrema Ratio Police EVO is a folding blade multifunction knife derived from the Police III with a modified main blade and a versatile set of tools. The knife has been developed based on the needs of Italian State Police officers on the field, both in terms of daily and emergency use.
The main blade is of sheepsfoot design, made in Böhler N690 steel hardened at 58 HRC, 85 mm/3.3” long and 3mm/0,12” thick, has a straight, plain edge and performs well in multiple tasks, from precision cutting to heavy work.
A secondary blade with automatic opening has a radiused, non-sharpened end and a recessed plain edge and is specifically meant for rescue work. Both blades carry a stone washed finish.
A stainless-steel screwdriver bit carrier can be fitted to a magnetic socket in the aluminum alloy grips, while a saw blade, small file and multifunction tool can be fitted to the opposite end of the grip and fixed by a pin-screw provided in the knife’s scabbard. Both sockets are clearly identified and marked on the knife’s handle.
A knot remover is housed on the spine of the knife and has a knurled ring to help in deployment and a safety feature that allows the point to be locked in the open position.
The saw is suited for cutting plastic, wood, soft metals and other light materials, the file can be used to adapt small parts or remove small amounts of metal while the multifunction tool can be used to open bottles, cans and tins. With the various tools the knife can perform a variety of functions, from those typical of a camp knife to small repairs to rescue operations.
The grip is milled from an anticorodal alloy billet and black anodized for further resistance and has a carbide glass breaker on the end and a clip for pocket carry.
The nylon scabbard contains the knife, tools, pin and the screwdriver with its bits and can be attached to a service belt by a nylon loop.
