Industry Shooting Platform: a position paper
In view of the forthcoming ISSF Presidency elections due to be held on 30th November 2018 at the General Assembly in Munich, the ISP laid down a number of key issues that should be at the top of the future ISSF President's agenda so as to safeguard shooting disciplines and their related sectors.
The Industry Shooting Platform (ISP) is an informal platform established on 9th March 2018 in Nuremberg to coordinate the voice of companies who serve shooting disciplines in the various sectors.
These include manufacturers of firearms and ammunition, producers of shooting clothing and sportswear, and industries that manufacture electronic scoring systems and accessories.
ISP POSITION PAPER
First of all, the ISP believes that there should be a continuity with the commitment expressed by the previous Presidency in terms of cooperation with the industry sector and create an Industry Committee within the ISSF able to work jointly so as to meet athletes' needs and develop a common ISSF strategy.
Furthermore, the ISP is convinced that the brand of shooting and its communication strategy should be further developed through an effective image campaign driven by ISSF so as to attract more audience and participation.

The ISP acknowledges the attempts made over the years by ISSF to improve the presence of sport shooting disciplines at the Olympic games and believes that further work should be done to effectively promote the inclusion of sport shooting disciplines both in the youth Olympic and Paralympics games.
At the same time, the ISSF should strive to retain the current sport shooting disciplines included in the Olympic programme, (achieved over many years of hard work), and work to see new, popular sport shooting disciplines added to their number. Also the current balance of firearms and ammunition used in Olympic events should be maintained.
Finally, the ISP would like to highlight the serious challenges faced by companies when competitions are organized in countries where restrictions on the import of ammunition are in place, which inevitably result in further red tape or even the impossibility to provide ammunition to their athletes who are then obliged to shoot with products other than those they usually train with. This is a problem that ISSF should take into consideration when drafting the calendar of international events.

IEACS Secretariat
The Industry Shooting Platform activities are coordinated by the IEACS Secretariat.
IEACS, l’Institut Européen des Armes de Chasse et de Sport (European Institute of Hunting and Sporting Arms), is both a non-profit Association and Scientific Institute, which has been working in Brussels, since 1976.
First founded by national associations of manufacturers of sport shooting firearms from France, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Spain (with Great Britain joining later), the Institute was recognized as an “international association with scientific aim” by the Belgian Government, in 1980.
Shortly, it was recognized by the European Community as the spokesperson for the Industry, representing around 1000 companies and 150 manufacturers of civilian firearms across Europe.
