The Umarex name stands once again for radical innovation in the field of airguns: the 2024 edition of NRAAM (NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits) saw Umarex USA – the north American branch of the Arnsberg, Germany-based group – introduce the Umarex Komplete NCR air rifle, where NCR stands for "Nitrogen Cartridge Rifle".

Available in 4,5mm (.177) and 5,5mm (.22) versions, the new Umarex Komplete NCR is the world's first air rifle to ditch PCP technology, compressors, air pumps, and CO² canisters in favor of proprietary 32-grams nitrogen canisters, charged to a staggering 3,600 PSI (248 Bar approx.) of pressure.

Readily available in nature, N² (nitrogen) is a cleaner and more stable gas than CO², it offers more constant performance and leaves less residues in the gun; additionally, compared to other propulsion systems, nitrogen provides lower recoil and extra pressure, translating into extra distance, accuracy, and energy on target.

The piercing and firing mechanism are proprietary and extremely advanced, to prevent spillage or waste of nitrogen, and the metal canisters are disposable and can be recycled.

Standing at 105 mm (41.5") in overall length and weighing in at 2,26 kilograms (5 lbs) when empty, the new Umarex Komplete NCR air rifle comes issued from factory with a 23.6" (59,9 cm) steel barrel with built-in Umarex SilencAir sound moderator and a 4x32 Axeon Optics Mil-Dot scope.

The Umarex Komplete NCR nitrogen cartridge pellet rifle is advertised on the US market as the ideal solution for small-game hunting and pest control, and sold in bundles with dedicated accessories at a MSRP of $289.48.
