Springfield Armory 2020 Rimfire bolt-action rifle
The new Springfield Armory Model 2020 Rimfire bolt-action rifle: a versatile .22 Long Rifle platform available in six different stock options, perfect for varmint, small-game hunting, pest control, target shooting, PRS competitions, and so much more!
Just days after the launch of the new Model 2020 Redline rifles, the Model 2020 line expands itself with the new Springfield Armory Model 2020 Rimfire bolt-action rifle.
Chambered in the popular .22 Long Rifle caliber and available in six different variants, with black or sage green target-type polymer stock, or classic-style satin, Grade A, Grade AA or Grade AAA select walnut stock.
The new Model 2020 Rimfire rifle is decently priced to provide an alternative for a wide array of potential customers who are on the market for a reliable plinking or training carbine (for themselves or to introduce new generations of shooters to the basics of marksmanship and safe handling of firearms), or for those who may be looking for a reliable small-caliber hunting and pest control gun, or even better, for their new PRS .22 competition rifle.
The Springfield Armory Model 2020 Rimfire is built around a tubular steel action with a two locking cams, hard-chromed, fluted bolt that ensures high levels of repetition speed, endurance, resistance against aggressive elements or just wear and tear, and overall reliability. The 60-degrees bolt throw further contributes to the speed of the bolt, and keeps the shooter's hand well away from the eyepiece of any optical sight that he or she may want to install on the factory-issued, interrupted Picatinny rail.
All Springfield Armory Model 2020 Rimfire rifles come with a 508 mm / 20" fully floating, satin blued barrel with a 1:16" twist rate; the wooden stocks model feature a Sporter contour barrel, while the Target stock models have silencer-ready barrels.
Springfield Armory guarantees all of the Model 2020 Rimfire rifles to be capable of 1" three-shots patterns at 50 yards (2,54 cm at approx. 45 m): that's a 2-MOA level of accuracy, not bad for a budget-priced bolt-action plinker.
Additionally, all Model 2020 Rimfire rifles come with an adjustable Remington Model 700 pattern trigger, optimized for the .22 caliber action, with a hanger system for compatibility with other aftermarket 700 pattern triggers, to allow enhanced customization. All Model 2020 Rimfire rifles ship with a polymer 10-rounds rotary magazine; the rifle and magazine are cross compatible with Ruger 10/22 pattern magazines of the same capacity, offering versatility without compromise.
Standing in at 96,52 to 97,15 centimeters (38" to 38.25") and weighing in at 2,8 to 3,37 kilograms (6 lbs 3 oz. to 7 lbs 7 oz.) depending on the variant, the Springfield Armory Model 2020 Rimfire is currently being sold on the US market at a manufacturer's suggested retail price that starts as low as at $434.00 for the polymer stock Target variants all the way up to a maximum of $1,099.00 for the Grade AAA walnut stock variant.
