CZ DUTY line of modular striker-fired pistols
CZ introduces the DUTY 4.0 F and DUTY 4.0 C 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistols, featuring a modular chassis-based design and an interchangeable reinforced polymer frame
First announced in December 2016, the P10 series of semi-automatic, striker-fired, polymer frame pistols manufactured in Czech Republic by CZ Firearms (Česká Zbrojovka A.S.) is today regarded as one of the best handguns in its category, well appreciated by civilians and professional operators worldwide and being used by military and law enforcement agencies in about ten Countries worldwide.
On October 6, 2026, CZ announced the launch of the DUTY series of striker-fired, polymer frame 9mm Luger pistols, conceived as an upgrade over the P10 series with improved ergonomics, performance, and overall strength – being fully NATO STANAG AC/225 certified to withstand drops, exposure to debris or water, and above all, intensive use.
The new CZ DUTY pistols are certified to offer a service life of 50,000 rounds, or 25,000 rounds of high-pressure ammunition (the benchmark is the German military DM51 load, offering 30% higher pressures compared to 9mm Luger standard), including at least 10,000 rounds without requiring any part or component replacement.

The CZ DUTY is available at launch in two variants – dubbed the DUTY 4.0 F and DUTY 4.0 C respectively – sharing features such as a 104 mm / 4" cold-hammer forged barrel, the overall technical layout and working system, the trigger design, and overall length (188 mm / 7.4").
The main difference between the two variants is the grip length, whose pronounced cutout allows the use of 15-rounds or 17-rounds double-stack magazines either with or without their anti-friction, sleeved, textured black polymer baseplates.
The DUTY pistols series was designed to be as ergonomically friendly as possible, using CZ's own DiFEND Digital Freedom Ergonomic Design metodology, jointly developed with the University of West Bohemia and using NASA-developed software to create highly accurate biometric and anthropometric models.

CZ's new DUTY pistols are built around a black fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame, featuring a new slip-proof texture on the grip and numerous contact surfaces on the sides, as well as a fully ambidextrous slide stop lever and magazine release catch, a Picatinny rail for tactical accessories, and three interchangeable grip backstraps.
A steel chassis, hosting the trigger group, is seated within the polymer frame; the trigger of the CZ DUTY series of pistols is based on a new patented design and was improved over previous iterations for a smoother pull, crisp break and short reset, offering almost unparalleled repeatability and constant behaviour.
The trigger group chassis is also the serialized component, and thus legally represents the firearm proper, allowing shooters to configure their pistol at will without too many legal hurdles – at least in those jurisdictions where slides, barrels, and other such components are not too strictly regulated.
CZ's new DUTY pistols feature a trigger safety and two automatic safeties, including a three-stages drop safety. All models are also optionally available with a frame-mounted ambidextrous manual safety; shooters who purchase a CZ DUTY pistol without a manual safety will however be able to configure their firearm with one by purchasing a dedicated frame and safety lever separately.
All DUTY pistols feature a machined steel slide, protected by a new nitride finish of CZ's own conception. Compared to the P10 series, the CZ DUTY boasts redesigned, deeper, more aggressive front and rear slide serrations – the front ones reaching all the way to the top of the slide to facilitate racking even in wet or dirty environments.
Additionally, all CZ DUTY pistols a direct micro red dot interface machined directly on top of the slide, designed to allow the installation of any and all Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Holosun K-series, and Leupold DeltaPoint PRO footprint sights using only their screws, with no need for adapter plates.
All samples are also issued from factory with a set of new sights with a luminescent or tritium three-dot system for quick target acquisition, optimized for use with red dots and providing a lower-third co-witness.
The CZ DUTY pistols weigh in at 770 or 780 grams (27.1 to 27.5 oz.) when empty, and are extremely well balanced, adding to their exceptional controllability and maneuverability in all conditions, regardless of how many rounds are in the magazine or what kind of accessories are installed.
Distribution of the CZ DUTY series of pistols should begin soon; visit the official CZ website for further information. All inquiries concerning local availability and pricing are to be addressed to the authorized CZ distributor for your Country.
