The official launch of the new Savage Arms Revel lever-action rimfire rifles on the US market at the end of September 2024 marks the return of the Savage Arms brand on the field of lever-action rifles well over a quarter century after their latest lever-action hunting rifle – the iconic Model 99 – was phased out of production.

Based on the tried-and-true technical layout and aesthetics of the legendary Winchester Model 92 design and manufactured by Savage Arms in their Lakefield (Ontario, Canada) plant, the new Revel rifles are offered as handy and cost-effective alternatives for target shooting, training, leisure plinking, small-game hunting, and as preparatory instruments to introduce the youngest generations of future shooting champions and outdoor enthusiasts to the basics of marksmanship and safe firearm handling.

As of today, the Revel line comprises two models: the Revel Classic rifle, with a basic design, satin Turkish walnut stock and handguard; and the Revel DLX rifle (DLX standing for "Deluxe"), with a much more elaborate, lightened, and aesthetically pleasing set of furniture manufactured out of the same satin-finished Turkish walnut, also including a checkered pistol grip and a recoil-absorbing black rubberized buttpad.

All models are built around a black aluminum alloy receiver, drilled and tapped for scope mounts or rails, and feature a medium-profile 457 mm / 18" carbon steel barrel with no muzzle thread.

All variants feed via a front-loading magazine tube with a Henry-style gate, holding up to twelve rounds of .22 Long Rifle and nine rounds of .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire or .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire.

Other shared features include a single-action, external hammer trigger with an oversized charging lever loop and crossbolt manual safety; two sling swivel studs; and a solid set of adjustable iron sights – specifically a ladder sight for both variants, a fixed front post for the Classic model and a hooded front sight for the DLX model.

Additionally, both models can easily be stripped in two parts on the field for easier and quicker cleaning and maintenance, for safe long-term storage, or to reduce the overall length for easier carry on any and all terrains. The takedown capability is sure to get the survival rifle enthusiasts community very interested in the new Revel series.

As of today, the Savage Arms Revel Classic rifle in .22 Long Rifle is already available on the US market at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $439,00; the .22 Long Rifle Revel DLX will follow suit in Winter 2024, at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $539,00. The .22 WMR and .17 HMR versions of both models are scheduled for launch in Spring 2025.
