Beretta NARP: a new assault rifle system from Italy!
Beretta Defense Technologies (BDT) introduces a new assault rifle system at the 2023 edition of DSEi: the NARP 5.56x45mm NATO assault rifle, an advanced platform designed to meet the modern needs of military forces and law enforcement agencies, ushers the Italian centuries-old group into a new era of defense products
Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta – a leading provider of military equipment – today announced at DSEi exhibition in London the launch of its New Assault Rifle Platform (NARP).
Entirely designed, developed and manufactured in Italy, NARP has been designed to increase and enhance five operational key capabilities: lethality, reliability, ergonomics, modularity and signature reduction. From the evolution of Beretta's military DNA, new product’s design has been inspired by functional genetics, to be a natural extension of users and offer a unique set of features to back and support military forces and law enforcement operators who operate in complex, high threat environments.

The Beretta NARP is a unique and modern platform, embodying battle-proven technical solutions designed by Beretta to push the boundaries of products performance – such as 11.5", 14.5" and 16" quick-change barrels, easy field-stripping procedures, and a short-stroke gas piston working system with adjustable gas valve – while retaining AR-15 type controls and ergonomics to minimize the learning curve and speed up familiarization for those users who are already trained to use the M4 carbine and its variants.
Thanks to its reduced weight of 3.3 kg (including empty magazine) and a total length under 90 cm, Beretta's NARP fits any operator offering fully ambidextrous controls, a buffer-less design that will accept telescopic, foldable, or collapsible stocks, and proprietary grips and buttstocks enabling efficient handling and quick and convenient transitions under all circumstances.
Modularity and versatility make the Beretta NARP assault rifle adaptable to any action scenario, including the most challenging environments: a chassis made of cutting-edge materials and a solid dust cover ensure its excellent performance even in very cold or very hot temperatures and in muddy and dusty scenarios. Through complete control, the Beretta NARP offers pinpoint accuracy at any distance, ensuring the certainty of hitting the target and completing the mission successfully.
Presented at DSEI in three barrel lenghts and in a 5.56x45mm NATO chambering, feeding through STANAG 4179 compatible magazines, the Beretta NARP will be the first step of a completely new portfolio of battle weapons, this including a new assault rifle fitted with a muzzle flash reducer system and an improved thermal signature reduction.
Integrated with new Beretta made B-Silent sound suppressor, produced using additive manufacturing technology, the new rifle dramatically reduces soldiers’ signature thus increasing their survivability on the battlefield, masking soldiers from detection from sight and hearing.
