SHOT Show 2019 – The Ruger SR1911 Competition 9mm pistol has been developed by Ruger’s Custom Shop in close collaboration with Doug Koenig to meet the needs of the most demanding shooters
First anticipated in late 2018 and showcased at the 2019 edition of the NSSF SHOT Show, the Ruger SR1911 Competition 9mm semi-automatic pistol, has been conceived and is produced by Ruger’s custom shop in close collaboration with world-famous shooter Doug Koenig as a top-tier competition pistol for IPSC, USPSA or 3-Gun shooting.
The Ruger SR1911 Competition pistol feeds through extended magazines offering a capacity of 10+1 rounds of 9mm Luger ammunition, and is built around a hand-fitted stainless steel slide and black nitride stainless steel frame trimmed with a 25 lines-per-inch checkered front strap and matching checkered mainspring housing.
The SR1911 competition comes factory-issued with Hogue Piranha G10 grips and a machined aluminum TechWell magwell for lightning fast reloads.
The 5” barrel of the Ruger SR1911 Competition pistol offers top-tier features such as a polished feed ramp, fitted barrel lug, target crown, and six right-handed grooves with a unique 1:16" slow twist to increase accuracy with lighter weight match bullets.
The Match trigger includes a Koenig Shooting Sports low-mass hammer and competition sear, flat-faced trigger shoe, precision-machined cylinder and slide disconnector and hand-tuned sear spring.
Other features of the Ruger SR1911 Competition pistol include an undercut trigger guard and beavertail grip safety for a comfortable high hold designed to reduce muzzle flip; a fiber optic front sight and adjustable serrated rear target sight for match speed and accuracy; ambidextrous safety, extended magazine release, forged slide stop and integral plunger tube.
The Ruger SR1911 Competition comes factory-issued with a waterproof, fitted hard case; two, 10-round competition magazines; Ruger Custom Shop certificate of authenticity, challenge coin, cleaning cloth, gun peg and decal.
