Canik TP9 Elite Combat
SHOT Show 2019 – The much-awaited TP9 Elite Combat 9mm semi-automatic pistol from Canik Arms of Turkey is finally in distribution, and was again the center of attention at the company booth in Las Vegas
It took almost one full year for the Canik TP9 Elite Combat semi-automatic pistol, first introduced at the 2018 edition of the SHOT Show, to enter distribution. Needless to say, it was eagerly awaited for by thousands of Canik pistol enthusiasts in the United States and worldwide – and well deservedly so.
The TP9 Elite Combat is a versatile compact pistol based on the company’s own TP9 SF Elite model, but featuring performance parts designed by Salient Arms International in an industry-first collaboration, including a fluted and nitride-coated Match-grade barrel with a metric M13,5x1 LH thread pitch for suppressors, thread protector, fiber optic sights and flared magazine well.
The Canik TP9 Elite Combat pistol is a striker-fired, single-action only design built around a compact-sized, fiber-reinforced polymer frame available in black or desert tan, featuring a flat-faced trigger guard, a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for tactical accessories, and an interchangeable grip backstrap system for improved ergonomics.
The trigger assembly is manufactured out of aluminum, with a competition-style flat face and flat trigger safety; also issued from factory is a reversible magazine catch that’s also extendable to four different sizes for easier reach.
The slide – available in a black or desert tan Cerakote-over-Tenifer finish for long-lasting corrosion resistance – features both front and rear slide serrations, the above-mentioned set of SAI-designed fiber-optic sights, and an optics-ready interface with four different adapters to accept the market’s most popular reflex sights. An included cocking lever can be mounted to either side of the slide for fast loading.
The Canik TP9 Elite Combat is chambered in 9x19mm only as of today, and comes issued with one flush-fit, double-stack 15-round magazine and one 18-round magazine with a +3 aluminum extension.
The internal firing control components are nickel plated for smooth operation and high performance. A patented holster, magazine loader and cleaning kit are standard in the package.
