Glock G43X MOS and G48 MOS optics ready pistols
The Glock 43X MOS and Glock 48 MOS optics-ready pistols bring the Austrian company's latest single-stack concealed carry designs to a whole new level, following the current market trend that sees optics-ready defensive handguns in high demand – and are also available in a combo version accompanied by a Shield RMSc mini reflex sight
The freshly-announced Glock 43X and Glock 48 MOS semi-automatic pistols follow the global market trend that sees an increasing demand for small-sized, slimline concealed carry pistols that would also be capable of mounting micro reflex or red-dot sights, providing enhanced and faster target acquisition.
Like all the previous optics-ready Glock pistols, the new variants of the Glock 43X and the Glock 48 come issued with the Company's own, patented Modular Optics System (MOS); however, unlike the full-size and compact Glock MOS pistols, the new G43X MOS and G48 MOS have slide cuts designed for specific micro-optics and do not include adapter plates.
The G43X MOS and G48 MOS pistols incorporate all the best elements of the well-known Slimline series – including a short trigger distance; a railed frame with a built-in beavertail for a higher, firmer grip; a reversible magazine catch; and the Glock GMB Marksman barrel, an incredibly accurate, Match-grade, improved polygon-rifling barrel that's standard on all Gen.5 Glock pistols.
Both models are built around what is essentially the same single-stack polymer frame, and both come with front and rear slide serrations; the difference between the two is all in the overall and barrel length: the Glock 43X has an 87 mm / 3.41" barrel and is 165 mm / 6.50" long overall, while the Glock 48 is longer, standing at 185 mm / 6.5" overall with a 106 mm / 4.17" barrel.
Both are extremely slim, being barely 28 mm / 1.10" wide, as well as extremely lightweight: the Glock 43X is 461 g / 16.26 oz without a magazine, while the Glock 48 is a little bit heavier at 524 g / 18.48 oz, making for a perfect alternative for those shooters who are looking for an effortless, printless, and yet effective concealed carry pistol.
Both also share the same optimal sized grip, for the sake of handling and shooting comfort, and both feed from the same, improved Glock "slim (01)" single-stack magazine, featuring a high-visibility orange follower and built to ensure interchangeability between the two pistols with a high level of reliability. The Glock slim (01) magazine offers a capacity of ten rounds of 9x19mm Luger ammunition.
And it just doesn't get any more optics-ready than this: the Glock 43X MOS and Glock 48 MOS are both also available in a combo, coming issued from factory with a Shield RSMc mini red-dot sight – one of the smallest, most compact reflex sights currently available on the market, standing barely at 41 mm in length and 19.2 grams in weight with battery, while at the same time offering a crisp, super-visible 4 MOA LED-powered red dot and a low parallax, scratch resistant glass lens treated with a noncolored, anti-reflection coating.
Built around a matte black, aerospace-grade aluminum alloy housing, the Shield RSMc micro reflex sight is powered by a single CR2032 3V lithium battery, offering a maximum lifespan of two to four years depending on the use or storage conditions; battery life is improved by the automatic brightness adjustment system.
