New from Vortex Optics, and available in red and green dot variants, the new Crossfire II lineup of red dot sights brings added function to a name shooters already know and appreciate.

The Vortex Crossfire II series has been designed to keep the straightforward operation that made the original Crossfire series a favorite among sport shooters, hunters, and professional users worldwide, while imbuing it with a plethora of improvements such as a more refined build, and flush buttons that let shooters move through brightness settings without dialing all the way around.

The Vortex Crossfire II red dot sights are built for hunters, recreational and sport shooters, and professional operators such as law enforcement officers who want an optic that stays easy to use as their interest, commitment, or duties grow.

While most users know the Crossfire series as a natural fit for AR-15 derivatives and other modern sporting rifle platforms, it has also proven itself on rimfires, shotguns, hunting rifles, and just about anything else with a Picatinny rail: it mounts up fast and is easy to run so the shooter's focus stays on target where it belongs.

The Crossfire II series sights are built on a solid single-piece aircraft-grade aluminum alloy chassis available in black or tan, featuring a corrosion and wear resistant matte anodization that reduces glare and helps camouflage the shooter's position.

Both lenses on the Crossfire II red dot sights are fully multicoated, with anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces to provide increased light transmission for greater clarity and low-light performance, and ultra-hard exterior lens ArmorTek treatment that defends against scratches, oil, and dirt.

Red dot and green dot, black and tan variants of the Vortex Crossfire II design are all available in two variants: solely battery-operated, with an O-ring sealed compartment on the right side of the body for a single CR2032 battery that will provide up to 50,000 hours of runtime depending on the selected brightness level; and optionally with an embedded ancillary solar power source, which allows the sight to be operated without a battery in bright light conditions and otherwise extends the maximum battery runtime to a staggering 150,000 hours.

The solar D-TEC Technology automatically detects light conditions to automatically draw power from solar or battery as needed; the Vortex Crossfire II sights also feature a "Shake-to-wake" system that automatically activates dot illumination with motion, and a 10-minute auto-shutoff function to save battery life.

For manual operation, the Vortex Crossfire II features two rubberized buttons – located on top of the sight body on the battery-only models, to the left side on the solar models – that dub as a manual activation and adjustment switch: the 2 MOA center dot can be adjusted to ten different brightness levels, the lowest two being compatible with night vision devices.

The red or green center dot can be adjusted on a 100 MOA range for windage and elevation via two ½-MOA-per-click, 22.½-MOA-per-rotation dials that can be operated with a flat-headed tool and are slightly inset to prevent accidental loss of zero.

Standing at 6,6 cm / 2.6" in overall length and tipping the scales at approximately 127 grams (4.47 oz), the Vortex Crossfire II red or green dot sights also come issued from factory with a lower 1/3 co-witness Picatinny mount and a low mount, both manufactured out of aluminum alloy.

All are nitrogen-purged and O-ring sealed for fogproof and waterproof performance, all are shockproof, and designed to withstand the harshest weather conditions, a wide range of temperatures, as well as the highest levels of recoil and impact.

In line with the classic Vortex Optics price point, the Crossfire II red dot sights are affordably priced: the baseline black, red dot model is sold on the US market at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $219.99, while all others go for $249.99.
