Cabot Guns pistols, now available in Europe
The U.S.-based Cabot Gun Company manufactures the world's finest 1911 style pistols – true jewels, now available to European shooters through Erredi Trading, an Italian distributor
The 1911 aficionados, the Cabot Guns name has only one meaning: "Masterpiece".
Definitely among the world's best 1911s, if not the best overall, the Cabot Guns pistols are the result of a wise and skillful mix of the world's top airspace-grade manufacturing technology, America's best materials, and the personal experience of the best gunmakers in Pennsylvania.
Not only are Cabot Guns pistols a solid investment – given their cost, which, there's no hiding it, is quite high! – but also the best and most reliable companion a 1911 pistol enthusiast could dream on: as a matter of fact, the Cabot Guns pistols are the only "luxury" grade handguns that can really withstand an intensive use at the range or for personal defense. Think of them as a Ferrari 488 which you could actually use for off-road competition without being afraid to getting as much as a scratch or a bump!
Erredi Trading S.r.l., an Italian company, was recently appointed as the sole distributor of Cabot Guns pistols for the civilian markets in Europe. That must definitely be a matter of pride for the CEO of Cabot Guns, Mr. Robert Bianchin, a man who's proud of his Italian heritage.
The Erredi Trading company currently has three different lines of the Cabot Guns production available: the S100 Government-sized pistol; the S103 pistols, available in a Government and a Commander variant; and the Vintage Classic pistols, one of Cabot Guns' latest.
As Mr. Bianchin says, a 1" group at 25 yards is normal for Cabot Guns. And customers shall keep that in mind when considering the investment.
Cabot Guns S100
Cabot Guns' scrupulous loyalty to John Moses Browning's original project found its highest fulfillment in the purity of the top-level manufacturing techniques employed. The Cabot Guns S100 pistol is a perfect choice for whoever may seek a top-of-the-line 1911-style, Government-sized pistol: an excellent gun overall, matching handcraftmanship with the use of the world's best, most accurate CNC and EDM machineries.
Among its features are walnut, ebony or ironwood grip panels, either checkered in a standard diamond-pattern or in a highly functional and aesthetically excellent pattern inspired by the Fibonacci spiral; a golden inlay in the front sight and an adjustable rear sight with tritium inserts; and either a black nitride or a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) finish. A star is engraved in front of the guide rod.
Also available in a "Mirror" variant for left-handed shooters, the Cabot Guns S100 pistol is sold at a retail price of €5,450.00 in Europe.
Cabot Guns S103
For the Cabot Guns company, shortening a standard Government-size 1911 to obtain a Commander model would have been unacceptable, as it would have shortened the cycle, potentially causing accuracy and reliability issues – which are, or at least were, indeed common among Commander-sized 1911-type pistols manufactured by other companies.
Cabot Guns thus decided to redesign the frame outright, allowing the use of a full-size, 5" pistol mechanics on a smaller-sized pistol with a 4.¼" barrel.
This is how the Cabot Guns S103 pistol was born. Thanks to its Full Cycle Technology, this Commander-sized pistol retains the same overall length and time of cycling as a Government-sized model, thus providing the same accuracy and reliability that turned the original 1911 into an immortal classic.
Both the frame and slide of the Cabot Guns S103 semi-automatic pistol are machined out of a solid billet of 416 Stainless steel; most of the other metal components, including the smaller ones, are machined out of the same material using high-accuracy CNC machineries; the 4.¼" barrel is cold-hammer forged.
Among other features of the Cabot Guns S103 Commander pistol are an exclusive flared ejection window that will grant even more reliability; Cabot Guns' own Tristar aluminum trigger; 24 lines-per-inch slide serrations for a secure handling in all conditions; Cabot Guns' own Reverse dovetailed rear sight that's snag-proof and ensures speedy and accurate target alignment; and walnut grip panels finely engraved in a Fibonacci-inspired pattern, with a Cabot Guns medallion on both sides.
The baseline Cabot Guns S103 Commander is priced at €5,073.00 in Europe; the Cabot Guns S103 Black Nitride model is instead priced at €5,691.00.
Cabot Guns Vintage Classic
Carried for over 100 years by countless shooters, law enforcement officials and military operators, the 1911 pistol has come to symbolize reliability resilience against the tests of time. It has evolved, been remade and reimagined by countless manufacturers and is an ever-present testament to the superiority of design. Companies putting their “spin” on the timeless design pitch products touting “old meets new” as their exemplar and invent new words and phrases in attempts to set theirs apart from a vast field of competitor’s wares.
That's not true of the Cabot Guns family of pistols; their pedigree is that of the primeval 1911 envisioned by visionary John Moses Browning. In the case of Cabot’s Vintage Classic 1911, old hasn’t met new – new has instead stepped into a time machine, bringing modern technology and methodology to the most classic of designs.
The Cabot Guns 1911 Government Vintage Classic S100 and Cabot Guns Commander Vintage Classic S103 pistols are sold in Europe at €5,485.00.
All Cabot Guns models are sold in an ABS case along with a gun lock, a stripping tool and two precision-machined magazines holding eight rounds of .45 ACP ammunition and featuring an enhanced follower for superior reliability.
