Vortex Optics, one of America's best known manufacturers of modern optics for civilian and professional purposes, announced the expansion of the Crossfire line of red dot sights, a well-respected series of lightweight and compact aiming solutions for hunting, sporting purposes, personal and property defense, private security and law enforcement applications.
New for 2025 comes the Vortex Crossfire Tan red dot sight, sporting a full desert tan protective finish on all outer surfaces. Also new is the Vortex Crossfire Green Dot sight, with a full matte black outer construction and a bright green center dot in lieu of the standard red dot; green is the most visible color for the human eye, and has long replaced red as the standard color for laser pointers as it makes for a vastly more visible alternative both indoors and outdoors and under any level of environment lighting, from pitch black to the brightest daylight.
The two new models are otherwise basically identical: both are built on a 6,3 cm / 2.5" long aircraft-grade aluminum alloy chassis, weighing in at barely 130 grams (4.59 oz), and are Nitrogen-purged and O-ring sealed for shockproof, waterproof, and fogproof performance in the harshest conditions; both also feature multi-coated lenses and are powered by a single CR2032 battery hosted within the on/off-illumination setting dial.
The 2 MOA center dot can be adjusted for windage and elevation on a 100 MOA range, and manually powered on and off or set to eleven different brightness options, two of which are compatible with night vision devices. Depending on the selected brightness level, a single CR2032 battery can offer up to 50,000 hours of continuous runtime.
Each Vortex Crossfire red dot sight is issued with a rubber lens cover, a lens cloth, a Torx key for the mounting screws, a low mount and a 1/3 Cowitness mount, both for Picatinny rails.
