Leica Tempus ASPH Red Dot sight
The Tempus ASPH is Leica's first red dot sight: a compact and lightweight aiming device, it offers the exceptional optical and build quality that Leica's sport optics are known for, matched with flexibility, dependability and fast target acquisition capabilities
At the 2018 edition of the IWA expo in Nuremberg (Germany), Leica Sport Optics announced the launch of a totally new product for the company: a lightweight, all-rounder, compact red dot sight apt for use on long guns and handguns alike, as well as for hunting, sport shooting, tactical shooting, defensive and professional applications.
Dubbed the Leica Tempus ASPH, this new red dot sight is built around a hard-anodized, milled aluminum housing that's 53,5 mm / 2.1" long overall, 34,5 mm / 1.35" high and 28 mm / 1.1" wide, for an overall weight of 40 grams (1.41 oz.) with battery.
Top optics quality is a distinctive feature of all Leica products; and making the difference on the Leica Tempus ASPH reflex sight is the 21x25 mm aspheric high-quality multicoated front lens, ensuring a crisp and clear visibility of the red dot in any and all light conditions.
The visible red dot sight is available in a 2 MOA or a 3.5 MOA version, and is manually turned on and off through two buttons located on the left side of the chassis; the same buttons allow the illumination of the dot to be adjusted on twelve different brightness levels.
The Leica Tempus ASPH red dot sight is powered through a single CR2032 battery, hosted in a compartment on the right side of the sight allowing quick replacement without the need to detach the sight from the gun. A power saving feature shuts the device down after four hours without operation.
Each Leica Tempus ASPH red dot sight comes issued with a rigid protective cover; a lens cleaning cloth; an opening tool for the battery compartment; and an Allen key to adjust the red dot. Adjustment range is of 100 MOA in both windage and elevation, with 1.1 MOA clicks.
Water resistant up to 1 mt / 3 ft. (0.1 bar of pressure), the Leica Tempus ASPH is already available both in Europe and in north America. The price ranges around 560 Euros in Europe and 595 US dollars in the United States, but always check your local listings and retailers for availability and retail price.
