Aimpoint ACRO P-1 red dot sight
Aimpoint of Sweden is usually very tight-lipped about its new products until the very official launch day; this time, however, they could not keep the new ACRO P-1 micro red dot sight a secret!
On June 8th, 2018, a few authoritative US-based sources leaked informations about a new small-sized red dot sight to be introduced by Aimpoint AB of Sweden at the 2018 edition of the EUROSATORY defense expo, kicking off in Paris on Monday, June 11th.
A product page on the Aimpoint website for the product was indeed put on-line, then hastily taken down following the Swedish company's line of absolute secrecy about new products until their official launch.
The word was out already, however, and today we can give you the first information available about the Aimpoint ACRO P-1 red dot sight ahead of its official introduction.
Based on the Nano sight developed originally for the B&T USW Universal Service Weapon, the Aimpoint ACRO P-1 micro red-dot sight is the only fully-enclosed system in its size and is optimized for pistol and applications which require a low profile red dot system; it is also the only sight in its size category fully tested with a minimum of 20,000 rounds on a .40 cal pistol slide for shock, vibration, temperature span and other environmental stress.
Submersible to a depth of 25 metres (82 ft), it is powered by a single commercial CR123A battery whose compartment is located on the left side, allowing access and replacement without removing the ACRO P-1 from the gun it's installed on.
Featuring an integrated keyed surface mount, the Aimpoint ACRO P-1 micro red-dot sight can also be used as a backup sight for magnifying scopes, personal defense weapons, and any area where a small red dot system is applicable.
The 3.5 MOA red dot is adjustable for windage and elevation, and its illumination can be set on ten different levels; at position 6, the electronics of the Aimpoint ACRO P-1 sight provide a battery life of over one year. The ACRO P-1 is also compatible with night vision devices.
GUNSweek.com will of course provide more information about the Aimpoint ACRO P-1 as soon as they become available, so stay tuned with us!
