Extrema Ratio Sethlans
Extrema Ratio presents the new SETHLANS knife: developed together with Master Instructor Daniele Dal Canto is a backup/survival knife with a powerful blade
The Extrema Ratio Sethlans is a fixed blade backup and survival knife meant to tackle a wide variety of tasks. The knife has been deveolped with Daniele Dal Canto, F.I.S.S.S. Master Instructor (Federazione Italiana Survival Sportivo e Sperimentale – Italian Federation for Sporting and Experimental Survival)
The blade of the SETHLANS is milled out of Böhler N690 steel, hardened at 58 HRC, is 105 mm/4.13” long and 6.3mm/0,25” thick and plain edged.
The drop point blade profile has a 1/3 length false edge and the massive blade profile together with grip design provide the user with a guard to protect the hand in heavy use. The blade is available both in the Stone Washed finish or the classic Extrema Ratio MIL-C-13924 black.
The knife is of full tang construction and the nylon grip panels are secured to the tang through two screws and have all the ergonomic features of the usual Extrema Ratio grip. The pommel has a slot for a wrist loop.
The tang has been milled out to make it lighter, and two slots further lighten the knife without weakening the structure and allow the knife to be fastened to a haft, or to wrap a paracord to the tang for a better grip on the knife and better comfort during heavy cutting work.
The Kydex sheath is extremely light and minimalist to reduce encumbrance and weight, yet it has a pocket for carrying a sharpening stone and a Kydex accessory with fire steel. The knife overall weight is 224g/8oz.
