The new Extrema Ratio Contact C tactical knife: sturdy and effective in multiple roles, it is the compact version of the successful Contact knife

The Extrema Ratio Contact C is a fixed blade, multipurpose knife, designed for field applications where a knife should provide the features both of a handy tool and of a reliable weapon, but with less encumbrance than its larger brother, the Contact.

The blade of the Contact C is made in Böhler N690 steel hardened at 58 HRC, but slightly shorter than the standard Contact model. The blade is 128 mm/5” long and 6,3mm/0,25” thick, plain edged with two fullers extending almost for the full length of the blade, lightening it without making it weaker.

The blade profile is a modified spear point with a ¾ length false edge and a spur guard to protect the hand in heavy use. As usual, both guard and pommel have holes to fix the knife to various implements. The blade is available with a “Stone Washed” finish or the classic Extrema Ratio MIL-C-13924 black.

The knife and sheath overall weight is 273g/9.75oz. The Contact C is characterized by a new handle which, while maintaining the iconic and ergonomic design of all Extrema Ratio knives, is now affixed with a threaded tang and matching pommel, instead of the usual lateral screw. This insures a more solid grip-knife fit.

Being a knife designed and intended for professional use, high relevance has been assigned to ease of carry, access and extraction in case of need. The knife is secured to the sheat by a fast release safety that can be easily reversed for left hand use.

The nylon sheath is versatile and can be mounted on the M.O.L.L.E. system of a tactical vest, a backpack or any other equipment both upwards or reversed. Textile parts have been minimized and are limited to the belt and double button safety strap, and the tight strap, reinforced by a rubber band to avoid rotation.

Rubber inserts in the sheath’s slots dampen the blade to avoid rattling. A cone shaped inlet eases the knife’s sheathing, while pressing on the trigger-like safety lever allows for a fast, instinctive knife extraction.

The knife and sheaths are available in Black, Desert, HCS, Wolf Gray and Ranger Green colors.
