The news is running fast: in the U.S. the Arsenal Firearms brand has been renamed to "Archon Firearms", and their Stryk B pistol has been rechristened as the "Type B", thus prompting a further delay in global distribution

Arsenal Firearms Inc. will officially be known from now on as Archon Firearms Inc.

The Firearm Blog – one of America's most followed firearm-related websites – reports today about an important societal change whose impact is likely to reverberate on the international civilian guns market for months to come: Arsenal Firearms, Inc., known in Europe as "Arsenal Firearms USA" and best known for its long-awaited Stryk B pistol, is officially changing name to Archon Firearms, Inc.

Consequently, the Stryk B pistol was also rechristened and is from now on to be known as the Archon Firearms Type B. As a result, the official large-scale release of the handgun has been further delayed and is scheduled for late Spring 2018 – at least in the United States. No information has been made available regarding commercial availability on the export markets.

« Effective December 20 2017, we are excited to announce that we are changing our company name to:

ARCHON FIREARMS, Inc.

Due to a potential trademark dispute, we have chosen to rename to avoid the possibility of a further lengthy delay in the launch of the Stryk B pistol, which has now been rebranded as the Archon Firearms Type B pistol.

As you may already know, last month we received the first shipment of Stryk B (now Type B) pistols from our E.U. manufacturing facility and had planned to ship to dealers last month. Unfortunately, the rename now requires manufacturing new slides with updated markings for those pistols, as well as the reissue of an ATF-required marking variance, and we now expect to launch in late spring.

I sincerely apologize for the additional delay, but it is necessary to avoid the potential of an even longer one.  That said, I am happy to inform you that Stryk B/Type B samples have been in final field validation for a month now with a select group of firearms trainers and competitors, and based on their unanimously positive feedback, we are confident the wait will be worth the inconvenience.

We will be sending out a press release later this week announcing the rename.

Our new Internet address will be www.archonfirearms.com
Our email addresses will change to the domain @archonfirearms.com

The company will continue to operate in its current structure, and your contacts will remain unchanged. Other than these visible changes, there is no change in ownership and no change in staff. Our office location, phone, and fax numbers will remain the same.

Sincerely,

Adrian Chavez, CEO of Archon Firearms, Inc.»

Aside from the statements of Mr. Adrian Chavez, CEO of Archon Firearms, no further or more detailed information has been made available concerning the reasons behind the decision to change their name.

Rumors concerning Arsenal Firearms societal structure and operativity have been around for months, but none of them has been confirmed, and therefore worth publishing. Nonetheless, we have found one single exception on sofrep.com, where a more in-depth interpretation is available.

In any case, through its controlled publication all4shooters.com, RUAG Ammotec has declared that the rebranding issue affects only the US market and the running delivery of the pistols in EU is granted.

So we just have to wait to see the STRYK B pistol reach the International markets. We will try to know more at SHOT Show, that's right behind the corner...
