The 30th Muzzle Loading World Championship will take place in Italy at the sports shooting range in Valeggio, in the province of Verona, from 25 to 31 August 2024, under the supervision of the MLAIC, the Muzzle Loaders Associations International Confederation.

This important sporting event returns to Italy 22 years after the World Cup in Lucca and 17 years after the European Championship in Parma and represents a great opportunity for the entire Italian muzzle-loading shooting community.

Gianmario Delvò, president of the CNDA, the National Association of Arquebusiers, explains it: «All this is the result of the long work carried out in previous years by a team of people who, with perseverance and a sufficient dose of stubbornness, dedicated themselves to laying the foundations for so that we could reach this point. By continuing along this path, I am sure that we will figure well in the international forum, thus also being able to grow at a national level."

The CNDA will bring into play all its expertise, already tested with the 5th Italian Grand Prix held in the past month of April in Valeggio, and will enrich the proposal with all-Italian creativity.

Valeggio sul Mincio is a recognized city of art and is located between the provinces of Verona, Brescia and Mantova, an area in which the memory of the Risorgimento and its military events is still alive. The opening ceremony will take place in Borghetto, suspended over the river, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, with historical re-enactment and cannon volleys. An 800 m2 tent will be erected at the shooting range, where athletes and their companions will be able to taste local specialties and more.

As regards the competitive aspects, the format is divided into 4 days of competition, 500 shooters are expected for a maximum of 1,800 performances. The competition program will include all 26 MLAIC shooting specialties at 25, 50 and 100 meters.
