First showcased at the EOS Show expo in northern Italy and officially launched on March 3, the A400 500 Years Special Edition 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun is but one of the many new firearms that Beretta will launch this year to celebrate the 500 years anniversary from its foundation.

Based on one of Beretta's most successful bird hunting shotguns of Beretta's modern history – both technically and commercially – the new Beretta A400 500 Years Special Edition embodies the perfect tribute not just to the history and tradition of the world's oldest continuously active manufacturer of firearms, but also to the passion for the environment and nature shared by the all-too-often berated hunters community.

Available only in 12-gauge, with a 76 mm / 3" chamber to handle even the hottest loads to the maximum effect, the Beretta A400 500 Years Special Edition shotgun is made unique by a spectacular and majestic game scene engraved on the nickel-plated receiver that flows seamlessly across the front and back of the sleek receiver line, transforming lightweight alloy into art.

Subtle touches of ink and precious gold inlays enhance the depth and movement of the engraving. Every detail converges toward the ultimate symbol of this celebration: the Beretta 500 Years logo, proudly sealing this limited expression of heritage and mastery.

At the heart of Beretta's A400 500 Years Special Edition shotgun is the B-Link self-cleaning gas system, featuring a cross-tube gas piston to deliver a cycling speed up to 36% faster than that of its competitors and drastically reduced recoil.

The combination of this powerful gas system and the precision-engineered rotating bolt ensures rapid, reliable, and intelligent operation in all conditions.

Thanks to the re-engineered gas ports and the systematic reduction of mechanical friction throughout, residue build-up is significantly minimized, greatly reducing the need for maintenance.

Further improving performance for this limited edition shotgun are an aluminum trigger group that ensures lighter and crispier trigger pull and shorter reset; and a competition-grade pro-lifter that remains in the "raised" position when the bolt is closed, allowing for unprecedented speed and ease of loading and eliminating the risk of thumb bite.

All Beretta A400 500 Years Special Edition shotguns feature a cold-hammer forged, 66 cm / 26" or 71 cm / 28" Steelium barrel, featuring a double forcing cone extending up to 80 mm, increases terminal energy and constantly dense and uniform shot patterns.

Perfectly uniform shot patterns with any type of ammunition are guaranteed by the Optimachoke HP choke system, manufactured out of high-strength steel to offer exceptional corrosion resistance against the high levels of friction inherent with the use of steel shot.

The A400 500 years Special Edition shotgun is packed with an Extragrain wood stock and forend set, ergonomically upgraded and featuring an enhanced checkering area and ambidextrous palm swell for superior grip and control in all clay target applications.

Beretta’s B-uffer rubberized recoil pad offers unprecedented resistance to the elements and long-lasting legacy, together with an aggressive ergonomic design.

In terms of sights, the Beretta A400 500 Years Special Edition features a small red fiber optic front sight at the end of a 6x6 ventilated sighting rib; the receiver is however drilled and tapped for optics mounts or rails.
