The Savage Arms 555 Sporting and Savage Arms 555 Sporting Compact over-and-under shotguns, new for 2024, are cost-effective alternatives to the rich and ever-increasing market of sporting clay and trap shooting shotguns. The 555 Sporting is available in 20-gauge and .410-gauge, while the shorter 555 Sporting Compact is available in 12-gauge, 20-gauge and .410-gauge, all with a 3"/76mm chamber.

Built around a lightweight, silver-finished aluminum alloy receiver that is scaled to gauge and incorporates a steel insert to reinforce the breech, minimizing weight and maximizing strength, the Savage Arms 555 Sporting and Sporting Compact shotguns both feature oil-finished, Turkish walnut stocks and forends, with adjustable comb height and 14.5” (36,83 cm) length-of-pull.

The chrome-lined, blued, ported carbon steel barrels – 30" long on the 555 Sporting, 26" long on the Sporting Compact – feature a raised, ventilated rib with a mid-bead rear sight and fiber-optic front sight. Five extended chokes (F, IM, M, IC, C) are included. Other features include a single mechanical selective trigger, a top tang sliding safety, and a manual extractor.
