Savage Arms Renegauge Competition: the new, all-American sporting shotgun!
Savage Arms expands the Renegauge line of 12-gauge semi-automatic shotguns with the introduction of the Renegauge Competition model: a high-speed, extended-capacity variant dedicated specifically to competition shooting
The Savage Arms Renegauge Competition semi-automatic shotgun is the latest entry in the Renegauge family, first introduced by Savage Arms at the 2020 SHOT Show.
Brand new for 2021, and entirely made in the US, the new Savage Arms Renegauge Competition redefines the basic design of the platform in a sporting-oriented variant dedicated specifically to IPSC and other practical shooting disciplines.
Featuring the same D.R.I.V (Dual Regulating Inline Valve) gas-operated system found on the hunting-oriented variants of the design, the new Savage Arms Renegauge semi-automatic shotgun handles both the hottest high-brass and the mildest low-recoil shells with the same dependability, ensuring that excess gas vents before it drives the bolt, resulting in consistent ejection, less felt recoil, and a lightning fast cyclic rate for dependably fast split times – all desirable features in shooting competitions where accuracy, power and speed are key factors.
The Savage Arms Renegauge Competition semi-automatic shotgun is built around a lightweight, aircraft-grade aluminum alloy receiver and a carbon steel barrel and magazine tube. The barrel features a full black Melonite surface treatment, while the receiver and tube are cerakoted in bright red.
The handguard and stock of the Renegauge Competition are manufactured out matte black synthetic; the Montecarlo-style stock is adjustable for length of pull, comb height, and drop & cast, making the shotgun fully customizable to any shooter's build and physique.
The barrel of the Savage Arms Renegauge Competition shotgun is 24" (61 cm.) long and fully fluted – bringing the overall length to 46.2" (116,8 cm) and the overall weight to 8.2 lbs (3,63 kg) – and features a carbon steel ventilated rib with red Hi-Viz Tri-Comp front sight and a .015" extended Skeet2 Light Mod. choke system that makes it compatible with Beretta or Benelli chokes.
The Savage Arms Renegauge Competition shotgun is chambered for 3" / 76mm 12-gauge shotshells, and the extended magazine tube provides an overall capacity of nine shells, plus one in chamber.
Other features of the Renegauge Competition include a one-piece, chrome-plated action bar assembly and chrome-plated reciprocating components; a stock rod buffer to reduce felt recoil; a competition-ready easy loading magazine port; and a set of oversized controls.
The distribution of the Savage Arms Renegauge Competition semi-automatic shotgun will start in the US in March 2021, at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $1,959.00; no information is available so far concerning international exports and pricing outside of the United States.
Perspective buyers may want to inquire with their local dealers or international Savage Arms distributors for further information.
