Beretta 1301 Comp Pro 12Ga shotgun
IWA 2019 – The 1301 Comp Pro 12-gauge shotgun is the latest entry in Beretta’s 1301 line of semi-automatic shotguns – this time, specifically conceived for action shooting
The new Beretta 1301 Comp Pro 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun is a special development of the 1301 line of shotguns, the new Comp Pro model was conceived for practical and action shooting following feedback from multiple award-winning shooters.
The 1301 Comp Pro features a new synthetic stock integrating Beretta’s own Kick-Off Plus system – two elastomer dampeners with return springs, positioned near the rubber insert, mitigate the first recoil peak reducing the perceived recoil by up to 40%.
A third elastomer dampener, located in the pistol grip, absorbs the impact of the slide against the stock, thus reducing the second recoil peak, muzzle jump and any vibrations caused by the movement of the slide.
The B-Steady system divides the stock into two sections: butt and pistol grip. The recoil absorption point is in an advanced position, moving in unison with the pistol grip, which is free to move back leaving the butt stable and avoiding any annoying rubbing of the comb against the cheek. The cheek remains still and rests perfectly without ever losing the line of fire.
For more comfort, the comb comes with Soft Comb, a soft insert which is gentle against the cheek. The rubber Comfort Grip improves sensitivity and pistol grip, while a set of provider spaces allow the shooter to adjust drop and cast at will.
A MicroCore recoil pad ensures perfect shouldering and maximum stability when shooting and allows for the possibility to adjust the stock's length to suit your requirements using the two spacers provided.
The ergonomic Comfort Grip forend, also made of polymer with a rubber insert, offers maximum grip even in poor weather conditions.
The Beretta 1301 Comp Pro shotgun feeds through a specially-developed aluminum tube manufactured by Toni Systems of Italy, connected to the barrel by an aluminum clamp for additional stability, and holding up to ten shotshells. A bright red aluminum alloy follower attached to the dedicated spring allows the shooter to quickly check if the tube is empty through the feeding port.
The 1301 Comp shotgun is built around a lightweight aluminum alloy receiver (ERGAL), anodized in bright blye and housing Beretta’s own gas system and B-Link rotating bolt, offering a 36% faster cycling speed than any other semi-automatic shotgun.
Despite the 3” chamber, the Beretta 1301 Comp Pro features an oversized 3.5” receiver for easier loading; for the same reason, the loading port has been enlarged and the lifter is kept risen while the gun is loaded, thus creating a sort of “chute” for the ammunition and preventing the shooters from pinching their thumb between the lever and the port.
The cocking handle and bolt release lever are also oversized, all contributing to even easier and faster reloading, particularly at the height of competition, when the gun is bound to be pushed to the max. The receiver of the shotgun is drilled and tapped for a Picatinny rail.
The Beretta 1301 Comp Pro shotgun comes with the company’s own Steelium barrel; cold-hammer forged out of tri-alloy Ni-Cr-Mo steel, deep-drilled, vacuum distended and featuring an elongated 80mm double forcing cone, the Steelium Barrel offers excellent ballistic performance with all types of ammunition – be it lead, steel and High Performance steel.
A set of interchangeable OptimaChoke HP Black Edition chokes is issued with each 1301 Comp Pro shotgun, allowing the shooter to adjust the pattern distribution to his or her need. A 10x8 stepped rib with fibre optic sight and mid-bead sight for optimum target acquisition are issued from factory.
