Diana Outlaw and Stormrider
SHOT Show 2018 – Diana Airguns showcased the Outlaw and Stormrider, two budget-priced Sport Line PCP air rifles available in 4,5mm /.177 and 5,5mm /.22
The Diana company has a reputation for building some of the highest quality, most solidly made, precision airguns in the last 100 years. The new management team at Diana recognizes the companies fine tradition of quality and value and are dedicated that any new products maintain this fine tradition. Keeping up with the Diana company name, two new PCP air rifles in 4,5mm/.177 and 5,5mm/.22 – the Outlaw and the Stormrider – were showcased by the company at the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas.
The new Outlaw is a PCP air rifle in Diana's Sport Line. The Outlaw is an impressive sporting precharged pneumatic air rifle that delivers levels of performance and features at a very affordable price. The Outlaw sports an easy side-lever cocking and loading system that cycles the multi-shot magazine and sets the adjustable two-stage trigger. Very good accuracy is provided by a special barrel and breech system and velocity is controlled by a precision air regulator.
The Outlaw's regulated action provided very impressive consistency and shots per fill off the air cylinder in our testing. A color coded pressure gauge displays the state of air charge and the rifle includes a dust cover probe style filling. The Diana Outlaw's action is fitted into a walnut-stained German beech stock with a comfortable soft rubber butt pad. When firing the Outlaw the shooter will delight in the very quiet report that is achieved from the full length shroud and moderated barrel package.
Servicing is minimal with only a required drop of lubricant on the side lever every 2000 shots. Cleaning of the air rifle's rifled barrel is so easy it will shock the new owner. One simply unscrews the barrel from the breech for full removal. This allows for cleaning from the breech and inspection as well. The new Diana Outlaw is suited for target or field duty with a trigger block safety and a one-year warranty.
The Diana Stormrider marks the company’s first foray into budget friendly PCP air rifles. A no-frills repeater conceived for new-generation PCP shooters, the Diana Stormrider features a Monte Carlo beech stock with a checkered grip and forend for a tight hold. The stock is only 1.5 inches (3,81 cm) thick, to keep the overall weight as low as 5 lbs (2,26 kg), much to the joy of younger shooters.
The Diana Stormrider feeds through a magnetically-clipping rotary mag that holds 9 shots in 4,5mm/.177 or 7 shots in 5,5mm/.22; the bolt action is short and fluid, and the cylinder can charge up to 200 BAR (2900 PSI), providing a muzzle velocity level of 1,050 fps (320 mps) in 4,5mm/.177 and 900 fps (274 mps) in 5,5mm/.22. A single-shot tray is also included. The Diana Stormrider also features open sights and a 11mm dovetail rail for optics.
