Lightweight, funny, and most important, inexpensive: these are the trademarks of the UX Canex air rifle, one of the many products launched in 2025 by UMAREX, the German leader in airguns.

Built for plinking and all leisure shooting activities, including backyard shooting, with an eye to classic shooting training and to the use as a propedeutic instrument to introduce the youngest generations to the basics of marksmanship and safe handling of firearms, the UX Canex air rifle is manufactured in two variants to meet the varying laws and regulations concerning airguns in many Countries: 4,5 mm /.177, with a <7.5J muzzle energy level; and 5,5 mm / .22, with a <16J muzzle energy level.

All variants feature a fixed, rifled 54 cm / 21" high accuracy metal barrel and a metal receiver, all finished in black, installed on a sturdy black polymer stock. The UX Canex is all feature and no fluff, designed and built to be extremely easy to operate.

The UX Canex is powered via two normal 12g CO² canisters, easily sourced on the commercial market mostly everywhere in the world, which are hosted back-to-back in a seat located within the buttstock, easily accessible by pushing two wings to remove the buttpad – which in turn integrates a hex key tool for their installation.

The Canex air rifle feeds via detachable 10-rounds rotary cylinder magazines, held in a slot at the center of the rifle. Two large sliding wings located in front of the magazine seat, on each side, provide a positive and secure hold on the magazine and guarantee easy removal in all conditions.

No cocking is necessary to fire the UMAREX UX Canex air rifle once a loaded magazine and two CO² canisters are inserted: the rifle features a very simple double-action only trigger, with a cross-bolt manual safety integrated on the trigger blade itself to block its travel when inserted. There's no easier safety feature to implement.

With two full  CO² canisters, the UMAREX UX Canex air rifle can fire up to thirty rounds – three full magazines – with muzzle velocity levels reaching 168 meters per second (approx. 551 fps) for the 4,5mm / .177 caliber version and 170 meters per second (approx. 558 fps) for the 5,5mm / .22 caliber version.
