Announced on September 4 on the US market, the Taurus 66 Combat is the latest entry in the Brazilian brand's already vast line of revolvers dedicated to concealed and open carry, personal defense, home and property protection.

Built on a medium-sized frame, and manufactured entirely out of matte-finished stainless steel, the Taurus 66 Combat is built to be a fighting revolver, chambered as it is for the powerful .357 Magnum cartridge and certified to use standard or +P .38 Special ammunition as well.

Feeding through an un-fluted, 7 rounds cylinder, the Taurus 66 Combat offers the extra round that counts – a staple of Taurus combat revolvers ever since the first Tracker line and recently adopted by the Company's defensive revolvers line with the recent Taurus 817 pocket revolver.

The new Taurus 66 Combat also features a double-action only trigger, with a constant and smooth 4 kg (9 lbs approx.) trigger pull and a spurless hammer for snag-proof drawing in all conditions.

The barrel of the new Taurus 66 Combat revolver is 3" / 7,6 cm long, and features six right-handed grooves with a 1:16.½" twist rate for optimal stabilization of all .38 and .357 loads. A full-length ejector rod is provided to speed up reloading and facilitate the removal of stuck spent cases.

Also featured is a Hogue black rubberized ergonomic grip, quite stubby in size for a combat-oriented revolver but nonetheless perfectly capable of helping the users tame the otherwise steep recoil of the hottest .38 and .357 loads.

Standing at 21,3 cm / 8.4" in overall length and weighing in at approximately 1 kg (36.5 oz) when empty, the Taurus 66 Combat revolver also features a fixed green fiber optic front sight and a rear sight machined right on top of the frame, at the rear end of the full-length sighting tunnel.

Bringing the fighting revolver into the 21st Century, the Taurus 66 Combat also sports the Company's own T.O.R.O. (Taurus Optics Ready Option) interface for micro red dot sights. Each sample is drilled and tapped to accept an optics plate, which is sold separately on the official Taurus e-commerce website; the plate will host any MRDS currently available on the market that utilizes the Shield RMSc footprint.

MSRP for the Taurus 66 Combat double-action revolver is set at $972.99 on the US market; visit the official Taurus website for further information. All questions concerning local availability and pricing outside of the US market shall be addressed to the authorized Taurus distributor for your Country.
