Beretta BRX1 Wild Boar straight-pull battue hunting rifle
The new Beretta BRX1 Wild Boar Edition, with its full blaze orange synthetic furniture, was specifically conceived for battue hunting and, more specifically, for wild boar hunting
The Beretta BRX1 Wild Boar Edition hunting rifle, first showcased in early 2024 during the trade shows season of the firearms industry, is the latest entry in the famous Italian company's BRX1 line of straight-pull rifles.
Now available in Europe, the BRX1 Wild Boar Edition has been created with the needs of wild boar hunters and battue hunters in mind, who also desire to combine a unique style with the exceptionally high standards of quality and performance typical of the Beretta brand.
The BRX1 Wild Boar Edition ils built around the standard BRX1 action, and comes with a blaze orange stock and handguard. Length of pull is adjustable via a set of shims, and a shorter angle, closed grip design makes instinctive short-range shooting easier.
The Beretta BRX1 Wild Boar Edition rifle features a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for optics and a set of convenient, interchangeable high-visibility battue sights, including a dovetailed rear sight with a bright yellow indexing triangle and a red fiber-optic front sight.
The top-tang three-positions safety is located right behind the action, and the ejection and charging handle can be swapped from the right side to the left, in minutes and without tools, making the BRX1 Wild Boar Edition rifle easily adaptable for left-handed shooters.
The free-floating, blued, cold-hammer forged Light-profile (16mm) barrels of the BRX1 Wild Boar Edition rifles are available in 51 cm (20") or 57 cm (22") variants, and feature a protected M14 pitch thread at the muzzle, allowing the use of flash hiders, muzzle brakes, or (where legally allowed) sound suppressors. Thanks to the proprietary mounting system, barrels can be easily swapped upon field-strip, retaining constant accuracy.
The bolt head of the BRX1 Wild Boar sports eight locking lugs for standard calibers and sixteen lugs for Magnum calibers. Through the use of conversion kits (sold separately), the Beretta BRX1 Wild Boar can easily be reconfigured to any one of the three available calibers: .308 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum, and .30-06 Springfield.
The Beretta BRX1 Wild Boar rifle feeds through proprietary detachable polymer magazines, with two side-locking latches, holding up to five rounds in all calibers. Other features include a set of sling swivel studs and a user-adjustable trigger that can be set on three different weight levels, from a minimum of 950 grams (2 lbs) to a maximum of 1,5 kilograms (3.3 lbs). The BRX1 Wild Boar rifle weighs in at approximately 3,3 kilograms (7.27 lbs) when empty.
