Arguably one of the best-known products of the late 20th and early 21st Century from the Forjas Taurus group of Brazil and its north American branch Taurus International, the Taurus Judge double-action revolver first debuted in 2026 as the "Taurus 4410" and later "Taurus 4510" model, only receiving its final moniker when Taurus USA vice-president Bob Morrison was informed of the fact that judges in high-crime districts of Miami, Florida, were buying the gun in droves for personal protection in their courtrooms.

By 2009, the Judge had become Taurus International's top seller; marketed specifically as a close-range protection weapon against home invaders or carjackers, the Taurus Judge features a very shallow barrel rifling that allows it to fire both .45 Colt ammunition or .410 gauge shotshells, as well as somewhat obsolete .45 Schofield blackpowder round, and has since been launched in a plethora of variants, including some chambered for the powerful .454 Casull.

For 2026 – the year that marks the 20th anniversary of the Judge's debut – Taurus introduces the "new Judge", a refined version of the design that remains faithful to everything that made the original Judge so popular while at the same time introducing some improvements, largely in terms of aesthetics and some functional features.

The "new" Taurus Judge revolver is available with a 76 mm / 3" or 152 mm / 6" long stainless steel barrel, protected by a matte black aluminum alloy shroud. The steel alloy cylinder is also finished in matte black, and features five 2.5" chambers to allow the use of .45 Colt ammunition or .410 shotshells without modifications or adjustments.

The frame of the "new" Taurus Judge revolver is instead manufactured out of stainless steel, and available in matte black or matte stainless variants, thus allowing buyers to choose between a full black or a bi-tone revolver at the moment of purchase.

The new Taurus Judge frame is more squared compared to the previous design; the trigger, hammer, and cylinder opening lever are all finished in matte black and were redesigned to align with the new, vaguely futuristic aesthetic lines of the renewed revolver.

Standing at 23 or 32 centimeters (9.15 or 12.65 Inch.) in overall length, and tipping the scale at 1,08 or 1,26 kilograms (38.20 or 44.50 Oz.) depending on the barrel length, the "new" Taurus Judge revolvers also come with a matte black ergonomic rubberized grip, a fixed red fiber optic front sight, and a drift-adjustable black rear sight. The trigger system remains the same reliable and fluid double-action found on the original, manually cockable for a crisp single-action.

MSRP on the US market for the black models is set at $699.99 for the 3" barrel variant, and $696.99 for the 6" barrel variant. All bi-tone models sell for $719.99, regardless of barrel length.
