Recently introduced by Taurus USA – the north American branch of the Brazilian Forjas Taurus group – the new Taurus 608 Competition revolver is a dedicated competition-oriented variant of the Taurus 608 series of revolver, designed and developed with the ambition of bringing the Taurus brand on top of the podium in disciplines such as silhouette shooting, target shooting, and practical shooting, whose revolver division competitions have so far been largely hegemonized by high-end custom builds or by factory models by Colt or Smith & Wesson.

Entirely manufactured out of steel, with a full matte stainless finish, the Taurus 608 Competition revolver comes with a custom 152 mm / 6" Bull barrel featuring six right-hand grooves and a 1:16½" twist rate. The eight-shots cylinder features chamfered charging holes and is cut form stellar clips or moon clips.

Chambered in .357 Magnum and certified for the use of .38 Special +P ammunition, the new Taurus 608 Competition comes from factory with custom black rubber VZ Grips Target grips and a fully shrouded, extended ejector rod for easier removal of spent cases from the cylinder.

The SA/DA trigger of the Taurus 608 Competition revolver is externally adjustable without special tools, disassembly, or the help of a gunsmith.

Standing at 29 cm (11.37") in overall length and weighing in at 1,44 kilograms (51 oz.) when unloaded, the new Taurus 608 Competition revolver also comes equipped from factory with a drift-adjustable Hi-Viz green fiber optic front sight and a fully drift- and elevation-adjustable micrometric rear sight that can also be easily removed and replaced with aftermarket micro red dot optics mounts.

MSRP for the Taurus 608 Competition revolver on the US market is set at $1,015.99 – steeper than usual for Taurus, but then again, this is a gun designed and manufactured at higher levels, specifically for competition.
