Ruger LCP MAX micro-compact pistol, now with MagPul Enhanced Handgun Grip
Ruger Firearms debuts a new version of the LCP MAX .380 ACP pistol, now built around the MagPul EHG polymer frame design for higher modularity and better control
Ever since its first launch in 2021, the Ruger LCP MAX .380 ACP pocket pistol series has constantly positioned itself at the top of its category in terms of quality, performance, features, and sales – in no small part thanks to its affordable retail price.
Standing at 137 mm / 5.35" in overall length and featuring a 7,1 cm / 2.80" barrel, the Ruger LCP MAX is one of the smallest concealed carry handguns in its category.
The relatively tame recoil of .380 ACP and the availability of extended 12-rounds magazines allowing for a better grip make it easier to control, with little to no negative effect on terminal performance given how a wide choice of defense-oriented, high-performance loads are currently available for .380 ACP.
New for 2026, Ruger collaborated with MagPul to bring the LCP MAX to the next level with a new model built around the MagPul EHG Enhanced Handgun Grip frame, redesigned for better ergonomics, built out of super high-strength polymer, and featuring MagPul's own, ¾-scale TSP slip-proof texture for a secure grip in any condition, without discomfort or damage to clothing during concealed carry.

Just like the baseline LCP MAX model, the new LCP MAX MagPul EHG pistol features Ruger's "Secure Action" internal hammer-fired double-action-only trigger, with a trigger blade safety and – specifically for the new MagPul EHG model – a thumb-activated manual safety located on the left side of the frame.
The LCP MAX is built around a self-contained serialized trigger group chassis that legally represents the firearm, allowing shooters to get the best out of it in terms of modularity. The new version of the LCP MAX comes from factory with a stealth gray MagPul EHG frame, but MagPul will soon launch new variants of the frame in different colors and configurations, allowing for easy and legal replacement.
The slide of the new LCP MAX pistol was fully redesigned to loosely match the aesthetic of the RXM pistol and of the MagPul EHG frame, while retaining crisp slide serrations and snag free design.
Sights-wise, the MagPul EHG Ruger LCP MAX pistol features a fixed tritium front sight with white outline for fast acquisition in all light conditions, and a generous U-Notch rear sight with a square front face for one-handed cocking. The sights are installed on dovetails sized to accept aftermarket Smith & Wesson Bodyguard-pattern sights.
The new Ruger LCP MAX pistol with MagPul EHG grip frame offers a short, smooth trigger pull, a clean break and positive reset; the feed ramp and ejector have been improved for maximum reliability in all conditions, and so was the patented barrel cam geometry that delays unlocking, slows the slide, and ultimately reduces felt recoil compared to other .380 ACP pistols on the market.
Each Ruger LCP MAX MagPul EHG pistol comes issued from factory with a soft pocket holster, a magazine loader, and two double-stack magazines with improved feed lips: a 13-round magazine with integrated MagPul grip extension for a full hand grip and better control, and a lower-profile10-round magazine with a MagPul-specific floor plate matched to the EHG grip frame's aesthetics and texture.
The magazine release button for the new Ruger LCP MAX MagPul EHG is reversible for left-handed or right-handed use; all other controls are located only on the left side of the frame.
The Ruger LCP MAX .380 ACP pistol in its new MagPul EHG version is sold on the US market at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $449.00.
