The 2024 edition of NRAAM - NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, held in Dallas (TX) on May 16 thru 19 saw Colt Manufacturing introduce a wide array of new products: four .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum double-action revolvers and two new bolt-action long-range shooting and hunting rifles chambered for the popular 6.5 Creedmoor caliber are added to Colt's vast catalogue, and should be available for purchase on the US commercial market soon, with international distribution kicking off in the coming months.

Reintroduced in 2020 after decades of absence, the legendary Colt Python .357 Magnum revolver is now available with an 8-inch (203,2 mm) barrel, in two variants: with a shiny stainless finish and a Target-style walnut grip with Colt logo inlay medallions; and with a bead-blasted matte finish and Hogue Overmolded grips.

Both models feature a full-length ventilated sighting rib with a red ramp front sight; a fully windage- and elevation-adjustable rear sight; and a glass-crisp breaking trigger with a 7/9.5 lbs (31‑42N) pull weight. The new 8" barrel Colt Python weighs in at 1.45 grams (51 oz) when unloaded and will be sold on the US market at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $1,499.

The Colt Viper double-action revolver is quite unexpectedly back in production for 2024, this time chambered in .357 Magnum – the original Colt Viper, launched in 1977 and produced for merely one year, was available in .38 Special only – and with a 3" or 4" half-lug barrel with six left-handed grooves and a 1:14" twist rate.

Entirely manufactured out of forged stainless steel, with a six-shots cylinder and streamed lines for concealed carry and personal, home and property protection, the new Colt Viper features a black ramp front sight and a U-notch rear sight, is 8" (20,3 cm) long overall and comes with traditional walnut grips. MSRP for the US market is set at $999 for all versions.

The legendary Colt Grizzly .357 Magnum and Colt Kodiak .44 Magnum big-bore double-action revolvers also make a comeback this year. Apart from the caliber, the two models are essentially identical: both built out of stainless steel, with six-rounds unfluted cylinders, Hogue Overmolded grips and 108 mm (4.¼") full-lug barrels with a recessed crown, a compensator and ventilated barrel rib.

Both models also feature a fully adjustable rear sight and a fixed ramp front. The Colt Grizzly weighs in at 41.1 oz (1.16 kg) when empty; the Kodiak's unloaded weight tips the scale at 48.5 lbs (1,37 kilograms). MSRP for the US market for both models is set at $1,599.

Finally, after a long wait, the Colt CBX Precision and CBX Tac Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor bolt-action rifles are coming to the shelves. Based on the same action, the two models can be told aside by their barrel length (66 cm / 26" for the CBX Precision model, 55,8 cm / 22" for the CBX Tac Hunter) and the stock configuration: the CBX Tac Hunter comes with a grey synthetic stock, issued with polymer inserts for LOP and cheek riser adjustment; the CBX Precision is built around a grey aluminum chassis with a fully adjustable buttstock, an interchangeable AR-15 pistol grip and an M-LOK handguard with a flat bottom surface for shooting from the rest or bench.

Both models feed from Accuracy International Chassis System compatible magazines (a 5-rounds MagPul AICS-compatible polymer magazine is issued with each sample) and feature a 1,3 to 2,2 kilograms / 2.5-5 lbs user-adjustable trigger. The Colt CBX Precision rifle also comes with a top Picatinny rail for optics, and has a set MSRP of $1,899 for the US market; the CBX Tac Hunter rifle is drilled and tapped for scope mounts and will be sold in the United States at a suggested retail price of $999.
