New Meprolight sights for 2017
The Meprolight FT Bullseye fiber-optic sights and the Meprolight Micro RDS reflex sight for pistols are among the novelties introduced by the famous Israeli brand
Meprolight – a leading international electro-optics company headquartered in Israel – has been developing, manufacturing and marketing systems for infantry, armed forces, law enforcement agencies and civilian markets since 1990.
Meprolight is well known among professional operators and sport shooters due to the high level of quality and performance of its products, which are exported everywhere in the world.
At the 2017 SHOT Show, the company showcased two new sighting systems specifically dedicated to handguns: the FT Bullseye is a revolutionary rear sight assembly that eliminates the need of a front sight; the Micro RDS is a small-sized reflex sight with quick-release capabilities.
Meprolight FT Bullseye
The Meprolight FT Bullseye rear sight assembly was conceived to allow shooters to line up their shots quickly and accurately aand to lock into any target – near or far, day or night, outdoors or indoors. Available in bright green or red versions, the Meprolight FT Bullseye is already available in the United States through the MAKO Group,
The FT Bullseye micro optic pistol sight is a revolutionary design that eliminates the need for the front sight. Meprolight's top engineers combined fiber optics and tritium technology to produce a handgun sight that works day or night and in all lighting conditions.
No batteries are needed: just center the dot in the circle and you are on target. Simple, fast and accurate, this innovative single rear sight assembly is low profile and will not snag on clothing and fits all holsters. It is easy to install, as it will fit the rear sight dovetails on most flat-top slides as used by the vast majority of modern combat pistols, such as Glock, SIG Sauer or Springfield Armory.
Meprolight Micro RDS
The Meprolight Micro RDS small-sized reflex sight was specifically conceived to allow pistol shooters to install a red dot optical device on their handgun without requiring expensive slide modifications, drilling and tapping, or the use of special mounts.
All it takes to install this reductive yet sturdy reflex sight to the slide of any modern semi-automatic pistol is the use of Meprolight's own TRU-DOT self-illuminated rear sights, to which the mounting ramp of the Micro RDS sight will attach directly.
The installation of the Meprolight Micro RDS will still allow the use of the iron sights as backup: the sight comes with a throw-level quick-release system that allows the quick removal of the optical sight itself.
