Sightmark Strikon VMP 1-4x22 SFP: a new tactical variable prism sight
Introducing the new Sightmark Strikon VMP prism riflescope, with a variable 1-4x second focal plane reticle, ready for sport shooting and law enforcement applications
Freshly announced on the international markets, the Strikon VMP 1-4x22 SFP is Sightmark's first ever variable prism sight, designed as a cost-effective but high quality alternative for use on AR-15, AR-10, and other modern sporting, hunting, and patrol rifle and carbine platforms.
Like most Sightmark optics, the new Strikon VMP 1-4x22 SFP sight is aimed at satisfying the needs of modern sport shooters – particularly those who compete in 3-Gun and other practical shooting disciplines – and professionals such as local law enforcement, private security personnel, cull hunters, game wardens, farmers who need to protect cattle against aggressive predators, and the like.
The Sightmark Strikon VMP 1-4x22 sight was designed from the ground up to be compact and lightweight: its body is manufactured out of 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, with a full solid matte black protective finish; the whole sight is barely 148 mm / 5.83" long overall and weighs in at approximately 530 grams (18.7 oz).
Even more importantly, its second focal plane reticle – which retains its original dimensions all through the magnification range – was designed for maximum versatility in close-to-mid-range engagements. A throw lever allows quick transition between pure 1x operation to 2x, 3x, or full 4x magnification.

The Sightmark Strikon VMP 1-4x22 SFP prism sight comes with a CRF-4 MIL-based reticle – 1 MIL being equal to a 10 cm point of impact shift at 100 meters, or 3.6" at 100 yards.
The sight features two turrets located on top and on the right side of the scope body, operable via a dedicated factory-issued tool, allowing adjustment for both windage and elevation on a 23 MIL range via 0.1 MRAD clicks, each being equal to a 1 cm point of impact shift at 100 meters or 0.36" at 100 yards.
The CRF-4 reticle also features scales that allow shooters to determine limited target range and shot holdovers for wind and drop compensation, and to engage moving targets, without necessarily requiring adjustments.
Relying on a fiber-wire reticle instead of a glass-etched reticle, the Sightmark Strikon VMP 1-4x22 SFP remains a technically simple sight, which is conclusive to a lower price point.
The prism optical sight used by the Strikon VMP 1-4x22 sight guarantees edge-to-edge clarity and drastically reduced distortion all across the field of view. Diopter can be adjusted via a dial located on the eyepiece.
The center dot of the reticle is fiber-illuminated, while the reticle itself is illuminated in red by a system powered via a single CR2032 battery and controlled by two rubberized buttons located on top of the eyepiece; the system can be manually turned on and off, and set on eleven different brightness levels, two of which are dedicated to use with night vision devices. A shake-awake system ensures the Strikon VMP 1-4x22 is always ready to use at a moment's notice.
Sightmark's new Strikon VMP 1-4x22 prism sight is IP68 certified to resistance against water splashes, dust, fogging, and immersion in fluids up to 1 meter / 3.28 ft for one hour. It's also certified to withstand recoil up to, and including, .308 caliber – making it more than adequate for the vast majority of modern sporting, hunting, defensive and patrol rifles and carbines.
Each Sightmark Strikon VMP 1-4x22 prism sight comes issued from factory with a honeycomb filter for the objective lens; a Picatinny-compatible mounting interface, three 0.39" riser plates, a full set of mounting screws, and a T15 Torx key; two throw level attachment, small and big; a turret adjustment tool; a CR2032 battery; a lens cloth; and user manual.
Designed around the popular Aimpoint Micro footprint, the Sightmark Strikon VMP 1-4x44 SFP prism sight easily pairs with offset or piggyback mounts for additional red dot use.
