Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 AR-BDC riflescope
For those shooters requiring speedy transition between short-range and mid-range target engagements, Vortex Optics offers the Strike Eagle 1-6x24 riflescope – a solid platform with a BDC reticle specifically conceived for AR-15 variants
Established in the United States in the year 2004, Vortex Optics is one of the most appreciated manufacturers and distributors of optical sights, particularly among those users looking for mid-to-high-range sighting solutions that won't match the high price tags of most American and European big brands.
More specifically, Vortex optics have quickly gained a reputation and a solid following among hunters, leisure shooters, competition shooters, law enforcement professionals and other civilian users of AR-15 variants and other modern sporting rifles.
The surge in popularity of modern sporting rifles led in turn to the explosion of a multifaceted, rich market for dedicated accessories and optics.
A prime example of this is the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 AR-BDC riflescope, specifically conceived for AR-15 based rifles and carbines and to satisfy the demands and taste of those commercial users looking for speed and versatility.
Offering a variable 1x to 6x zoom, the Vortex Strike Eagle riflescope allows to shift from accurate short-range target engagement to pinpoint-accurate mid-range targeting in a matter of instants – a more than welcome feature for users such as hunters, 3-Gun shooters, and Police officers.
The Vortex Strike Eagle riflescope is built around a single-piece, 30mm aircraft-grade aluminum tube hard-anodized in glare-proof black with a 24mm objective lens. The Vortex Strike Eagle riflescope is 26,67 cm / 10.5" long and weighs about half a kilogram (17.6 oz), thus adding a limited amount of weight to the gun it'll be installed to.
Nitrogen-purged and filled and O-ring sealed against moisture, water and fog, the Vortex Strike Eagle also comes with fully multi-coated lenses, providing protection against glare, scratches, dirt and oil.
The adjustment turrets are capped for protection and allow re-indexing to zero after sighting-in. With ½-MOA clicks and 44 MOA revolutions, the turrets provide a 140-MOA adjustment range for both windage and elevation.
A separate ring is located on the rear portion of the eyepiece to adjust the reticle focus. The parallax correction is factory-set at 100 yards (90 meters) and is not adjustable.
A consistent shooting form and cheekweld is thus highly recommended to prevent parallax-related issues when shooting at distances other than 100 yards.
The scope can be quickly cranked up from 1x to 6x via an eyepiece-mounted ring that's compatible with the Vortex's own Switchview throw lever.
The Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 riflecope features a glass-etched AR-BDC second focal plane illuminated reticle, offering a very clear central halo for fast target acquisition and a set of subtension lines providing ballistic drop compensation capabilities for 5.56x45mm / .223 Remington loads.
The reticle illumination can be set on eleven different levels, powered by a single replaceable CR2032 seated in the illumination adjustment dial itself. The windage turret cap features a storage seat for a spare battery.
With a 9 cm / 3.5" eye relief and a 116.5-19.2 feet/100 yards (35,5 mt / 5,8 mt @ 90 mt) field of view depending from the zoom setting, the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 AR-BDC riflescope can be proficiently used from any position and by shooters of any size and build, offering above-average performances in most conditions.
The Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 riflescope is among the best engineered in its segment and marketplace, it is durable and won't let you down, providing the expected level of performance even in the hardest and most intense situations.
