Such is the case with the NUTREK Blackiron ES 3-12x44 riflescope, a riflescope that stands out for its extremely compact size. The ES suffix in the name stands for "Extra Short": the scope is 243 mm long and weighs just 513 grams, making it one of the most compact in its class available on the market today.
Made from a one-piece, 30 mm diameter body with a matte black hard anodized finish, the NUTREK Blackiron ES 3-12x44 riflescope features a fully multi-coated (FMC) optical system on all components to maximize light transmission and image clarity, and reduce reflections.
In addition to being nitrogen-filled and rubber-sealed to resist humidity, water, and potentially harmful elements, the NUTREK Blackiron ES 3-12x44 is tested to withstand recoil up to 1000g—just under double the energy generated by a .308 Winchester.
With an eye relief ranging from 95 to 80mm and a field of view ranging from 11.7 to 2.9 meters at 100 meters, depending on the magnification, the NUTREK Blackiron ES 3-12x44 is surprisingly effective at eliminating tunnel vision.
The Blackiron ES 3-12x44 features TAC-LOK turrets, which allow for elevation and windage adjustment over a total of 45 MOA, with clearly perceptible 0.1 MRAD clicks—for extremely fine and precise adjustment—without the need for tools and with a manual lock to prevent accidental zeroing.
Focus can be adjusted from a minimum of ten yards (9.14 meters) to infinity using the rearmost ring on the eyepiece, while the frontmost ring allows for zoom adjustment; a quick-adjust lever can be screwed onto the latter.
Powered by a single battery located inside the right turret, the reticle is illuminated in red, engraved in the first focal plane. The reticle is milliradian-based and features subtension lines for windage and ballistic drop compensation over ranges from 200 to 1,200 meters.
