At the 2017 edition of EnforceTac – the yearly side event of IWA dedicated to military and law enforcement -oriented products – the reknown German gun manufacturer Heckler & Koch debuted its latest three new assault rifles to the general public.

Anticipated by many – including ourselves at GUNSweek.com! – in the past weeks, the Heckler & Koch HK433 assault rifle is the latest modular design from the company. Slated by many to be the designated successor to the G36, which the German Bundeswehr is seeking to replace, the HK433 was developed to meet the complex challenges posed by asymmetric conflicts within the broad spectrum of standard infantry and Special Forces alike.

An indirect gas impingment system, featuring interchangeable barrels as well as totally ambidextrous controls and cutting-edge features, the HK433 is lightweight and adaptable, and chambered for the basic NATO 5,56x45mm caliber, with STANAG 4179 (AR-15 type) magazines used for feeding. The company announced that a 7,62x51mm NATO variant – dubbed the HK231 – and a .30-caliber version in both .300 AAC Blackout and 7,62x39mm caliber – dubbed the HK123 – are also in the works.

But the HK433 is not the only new professional firearm that Heckler & Koch showcased at EnforceTac. Two new twists at some of the Company's best-known and appreciated designs are soon due to be offered to selected military and law enforcement customers worldwide.

The Heckler & Koch HK237 is a version of the well-known Heckler & Koch G36C assault carbine chambered for the well-known .300 AAC Blackout caliber – although it is also compatible with its European counterpart, the .300 Whisper.

The .300 AAC Blackout and .300 Whisper chamberings are also available in an HK416 platform, dubbed the HK337

Similarly, the new Heckler & Koch HK337 assault carbine is a version of the well-known HK-416 chambered for .300 BLK and .300 Whisper.

Both firearms offer short size – 10" barrels – and adaptability (riot helmet adjustable stock for the HK237, M4-type collapsible stock for the HK337) in an increasingly popular chambering among special operation forces and élite law enforcement units, as it offers .30-caliber stopping power and terminal ballistic performance with 5,56mm accuracy and very low noise signature, both in subsonic and supersonic variants, when used with silencers. High-performance ammunition provided by RUAG Ammotec were showcased along with the two rifles.

The HK237 is built around a G36-style polymer chassis with multiple Picatinny rails, while the HK337 comes with a full-length top MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail, an underbarrel rail, and an HKey aluminum handguard. Both feed through STANAG magazines.
