BLACKHAWK! Omnivore: the universal holster
SHOT Show 2017 - BLACKHAWK! showcased the Omnivore multi-fit holster – a single holster for over 150 pistols!
One single holster for more than 150 pistols, feeding mostly anything with a rail... is it possible? According to BLACKHAWK!, a global leader in tactical accessories and apparel, it damn well is!
New at the BLACKHAWK! booth for 2017 at the SHOT Show this year was the Onnivore series of holsters. Available for non-light-bearing handguns and for handguns equipped with Streamlight TLR-1 and TLR-2 or with Surefire X300 or X300U-A tactical flashlights, as well as in right-handed and left-handed configurations, the BLACKHAWK! Omnivore molded synthetic holsters use a proprietary rail attachment device to lock onto the pistol and secure it through a thumb-activated, Level 2 retention mechanism that offers a superior strength-to-weight ratio against most of the solutions adopted by the competition.
The quick thumb release device found on the BLACKHAWK! Omnivore delivers instant access to the holstered pistol, which is critical in high pressure situations, and is adjustable on three positions, as well as customizable for any hand size. The thumb release will not engage if the handgun is being pulled.
The BLACKHAWK! Omnivore is a "free-float" holster: it does not contact the frame of the holstered pistol, thus preventing wear of the finish: it allows debris to fall through without getting stuck, reducing jamming; and offers extra clearance, allowing easy holstering and fitting a wide range of custom add-ons.
The BLACKHAWK! Omnivore multi-fit holster is already shipping to retailers in the United States. MSRP has been set at $59.95 for all variants.
